  • Any diet?

    • I only saw regular not diet.

  • I can only see 4 packs at my local store. They do have diet though.

  • +1

Why do people buy these? Even at less than half price they're more expensive than getting it in 1.25L bottles. $0.75 WW homebrand diet all the way.

    • Woolies home brand diet or zero soft drink bottles are awesome! Highly recommend the zero lemonade and perhaps whiskey

      • Never tried whiskey and lemonade. Will try this with something cheap(er)

Our pantry is very rarely not stocked with most of the following; sugar free lemonade, lemon, ginger ale, blood orange and orange/passionfruit. Also sparkling mineral water and non-diet lemon lime bitters. All literally cheaper than bottled water.

        • Imagine how cheap it would be if it were piped to our house next to the water. Relevant.

Because these are in glass bottles and a great size 300ml. These work out to be about $1.11 per litre.
Bourbon and dry with a wedge of lime!

Cause you don't have to drink 1.25L in one go, good party mixes

      • +1

Why do you have to drink 1.25L in one go? Also I would argue that 1.25L is better for party mixes as you can put as much or as little as required.

I buy these because I can make a small brandy and dry for my wife and I which takes one bottle of these. We find that the large plastic bottles lose their carbonation very quickly and it gets wasted. If I am having a group of friends over, then I will get the larger bottles. Does this answer your question?

Once you open the 1.25 you have about 2-3 days till it goes flat. What denlife said

        • +1

          @denlife:
Yes its all about fresh fizz.

        • @clarky: 2-3 days? When I get Coke in plastic it is usually flat the very next day.

        • @DoctorOwl: ouch

$1.10/L is only slightly more expensive than Schweppes 1.25L bottles on special. Pay a slight premium for convenience, portion control and quality control (only open what you drink, less goes flat).

      • Yep it's good. Especially since lately the 1.25l bottles seem to be going for $1.30 a litre rather than 99c.

        • Recently $1.10 for 1.25L (88c/L). Has been as cheap as $1 for 1.25L (80c/L) in the last year. Pretty much the same deal at Coles.

  • Woolworths mount Waverley has about 4 packs left.. No diet though

  • Is this thing the same as ginger beer?

    • No at all. Ginger beer is sweet. This is not.

      • +2

        Ginger beer is sweet

Not necessarily. The difference is that ginger beer is fermented, ginger ale is just ginger flavoured soft drink.

        • Yes true but I think my generalisation for taste is more helpful to him than how they brew/make it. Most ginger beers are sweet compared to an ginger ales.

      • +1

Dunno about that, this is still damn sweet. Wish they had a reduced sugar version (not artificial diet).

  • Awesome, finally at the price they should be.

  • Finally I can pay mini-bar prices at home! \o/

  • They had never heard of the 12 packs at my local woollies when I asked tonight.

  • Our local only has soda water in 12 packs and everything else in 4 packs. Going to a different woolies tonight so will have a look, see.
