NOT a good deal, refer this size up and $900 if you pick it up….

    • Damn that's an amazing deal for a Honda generator. They are absolutely amazing gennies, the higher end ones are auto-throttling/push button start/inverted.

Still a 5kVa (7 max is unlikely) output Honda generator for $900 Pickup is redonkulous.

      • there is a significant difference between 'Honda powered' and an actual Honda product. Many cheaper no-name generators are hard to get serviced due to poor, non-standard parts. I think when it comes to generators, especially those for emergency use you are better off with a trustworthy unit, even if you have to get a smaller kva rating for a similar price.

        • Yeap, and then not all "Honda" engines are actually Honda engines.

        • I completely agree, I was looking into the unit afterwards and noticed the distinct lack of independent RCDs and by the looks of it - non-Australian standard switches.

But I think the most important thing would be that is it verifiable as an actual Honda motor. There are plenty of fakes, and a comparable Honda brand generator starts around $2k (http://powerequipment.honda.com.au/Industrial_Generators/EG5…)

I've only ever dealt with real Honda generators, and they are excellent.

        • @tryagain:

Check the carby and spark plug, also the s/n can be supplied to honda australia and they can check if its genuine or not
