Mc-Cheese-Fries (No Meat) Burger Hack - $0.80 @ McDonald's (Brisbane, Ipswich & Logan) (Req. Coles Receipt)

160

Back again. just tested it and it still works.

shopadocket have a $2 docket for a cheese burger and small fries.

not available on the shop-a-docket website but can be sourced from Coles supermarket receipts.

If you request this (can't use the touchscreens) from the counter ask for "no patty" -which they remove and removes $1.20 from the price. so you end up with a bun, cheese, pickles, sauce and small fries for 80cents.

80 cent snack.

Big note: I've been vegetarian for 20 years so I always request "no patty". Thus "saving" $1.20 for something I wouldn't eat. Or not paying for something that I don't want.

      • Not the shop a docket for this $2 deal

    Dupe

  • All shopadocket stores give this by the way. I've had no problem with it at woolies, bigw and target.

  • I saw on the menu you can get a small cheeseburger meal for $3 which isn't too bad.

or near me it's $1 cheeseburger, what happens when you take out the pattie, do they give you the bun for free? I always get the small fires with purchase from the survey, so if it's does, you may be able to get the lot for Free, just a theory.

  • Yea, thinking of same question, my store near me is having $1 Cheeseburger at 12-1. So do I get $0.20 and a free bun without patty?

    I just asked for

    No patty.
    No pickle.
    No sauce.
    No onion.
    No mustard.
    No bun.
    No fries.

Paid 20 cents and got NOTHING !!!

    beat that…

they should have given you the wrapper on a tray.

      • Someone should try this and demand for the wrapper on a tray if they dont.

    • I paid $1 and told them to keep the change…

@altomic "Big note: I've been vegetarian for 20 years"
McDonald's cheese is NOT vegetarian, it contains animal derived rennet and lipase (you can view the nutritional information on their website).

    • Vegetarians are not same as vegans. Usually ,they just won't eat meat and fish. I know a lot of vegetarians who drink milk, eat eggs and mushrooms

EDIT: Sorry, I jumped the gun. Read only the first part of your comment. (and I had to google second part of it after responding :))

I didn't say I was good at being a vegetarian.

    • +1

Yeah, but the cows are only milked by hippies

    • quick question - how can you tell that it's animal derived rennet that is used to make their cheese when the McD's site only mentions rennet?
      serious question, not trolling.

      • +2

If the product is derived from animal, it sill simply state Rennet or Lipase in the ingredients (this is the most common Rennet or Lipase). If it is non-animal derived (less common), it will state Non-Animal Rennet, Non-Animal Lipase in the nutritional information. Most dairy-based cheese you buy in the supermarket is not vegetarian since it contains animal derived Rennet. You can now buy vegan cheese in Woolworths and Coles as of last year (it's called Bio Cheese and some Woolworths may still carry Toffuti slices), otherwise you can get alternative vegetarian and vegan cheese at other shops (I buy mine from my local fruit and veg shop which also carry an awesome range of vegan products).

When McDonald's Australia was asked why their cheese was not Rennet free, they replied: "The important thing to keep in mind here is that we're not a vegetarian restaurant." (there is more to their reply, but it is not relevant here).

The veggie burger at Hungry Jacks is not actually vegetarian either… Go figure.

        Hope that helps.

        • thanks for that. and yes, that helps :-)

        • I believe the Veggie Whopper is vegetarian? Veggie Whopper with Cheese may contain rennet… I remember it used to be clearly marked on the drive through menu that it the cheese wasn't vegetarian when I used to go 3/4 years back.
