No matter who you buy from you should always do a format + clean OS install to get rid of all the junk. Drivers can always be downloaded individually off the manufacturer's website if necessary. No need for all their auto-updaters, diagnostic tools and bloatware. The security exploits are generally found in the auto-updaters and bloatware, so if you don't have any of that then your system is just as safe as any other irrespective of manufacturer.
Format isn't going to help you anymore, they can still sneak stuff in when you install. Thanks Microsoft.
