    its been 1.35% for a while now…

    • I just noticed today , previous eBay Cashback deal was posted with 1.25% Cashback. I thought I should share here.

    • Yes, I have emails from CR dating back to early March with the 1.35% for eBay.

Or has it gone down then up again since then? Either way not really enough change to make a difference (in reward$).

  • +2

    Any bargains? :-P

  • +18

    0.1%……

    Is this even worth posting?

    • +10

      Yes. To boost posting stats.

What is this, a deal for ants?

    • +13

10c in every $100.00 is better in my pocket than …. wait.. I hate carrying shrapnel

It's digital dollars/cents, if they are still too heavy for you, send em to me:

All monty.melb does is copy price hipster and post crap. All quantity over quality for this fella.

    • -2

      still a bargain

  • +2

    • I've read comments that people have had problems with shop and mint not answering emails

      • They are slow… thet take over a week to give your your money … and they don't answer emails. Thats my own experience. Cr took a day to give me my money.

    • -2

Dont mention this site if you have not used it recently or show your tracked transaction to us.

      • Care to explain your reason why I shouldn't? Instead of making general statements..

    • +2

I have about 8 or 10 recorded transactions through these dudes, S&M. Some were 5 months ago. Same thing, not one penny paid yet. Haven't enquired yet.
No wonder they pay high rates :-)

      • +1

That's what it expects you guys to trap in.Capture your affiliate sale and never pay out, perfect scam!

  • +19

Once upon a time, it was 2%. Then they dropped it to 1% because eBay said so.

I was completely fine with that until TA made a big deal (lol literally) about raising it back to 2% for our sake, even if it meant forking out that extra 1% from them (acting all generous), THEN they secretly dropped it back to ~1%.

    Not amused.

    • +4

The pinnacle was 5% rebate for a very short period of time, then gradually went down to 1%ish.

Cashrewards offers 1.35% now, just 0.1% over PricePal to take the lead.

However,Velocity eStore still offers 2 points per dollar if you prefer points rebate.

      • +1

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this as well, but I have transactions 'pending' from Nov 2015 (DJs), Groupon (7th Feb), eBay (7th March).
I am doubting whether they will actually pay or not. Velocity eStore is much safe option I think

        • Contact them through contact us on their webpage. Their CS are really helpful. If they havent replied you for good 2 weeks, be patient. Had mine resolved on 2 different occassions

        • @Arch1818: Thanks. Took your advice and sent one. Will see what happens

        • +1

@superbass: I have the same problem as you, don't expect your money any time soon.

The onus shouldn't be on the customer contacting them, they should be paying out well within the specified times or at least informing of delays.

        • +1

Same here. Heaps of payments pending. Annoying

        • @fantafox: Interesting to see number of people sharing same issue. I emailed 8 hours ago and TA emailed me back and advised that the payment has been delayed from the suppliers but those transactions have been manually approved. Transferred $31 bucks to my account.

        • +1

@superbass: that's because CR don't want these messages being spread on Ozbargain. If you go through the normal channels without telling them you're from Ozbargain, you're taken for a ride. There shouldn't be a difference how people are treated.

  • +6

May as well be 0 when they rarely track and refuse to do anything about it.

  • +7

The golden days when it was 4/5% now I don't bother using it

  • +4

    Typical monty.melb post

  • +4

How is this a bargain and why was my negative revoked?? It is NOT a bargain no matter how you look at it.

      • Hmm.. That's the first time I've had a good look at those guidelines.

It makes me wonder why in the past I've seen lots of -ve votes on items where the reason supplied was a link to an ebay store with a cheaper price.

Apparently those can now be revoked.

        • +1

          No they can't…

But a neg vote will be revoked if the reason isn't a good one. But when people neg vote with more than a 2 word comment (for example) then it stays :)

        • @Spackbace:

Lol, yeah I missed it, it's the first thing on the appropriate list.

I was busy looking at all the inappropriate ones. I didn't see the indent and "No explanation of the vote".

        • +1

          @josephchi:

All good, once that lesson is learnt you'll never repeat it :)

  • +3

Wow. NOw I can afford a PlayStation when I buy that maserati off eBay

    • +1

Cars probably don't qualify for cash rewards.

  • +7

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/248060

It's mentioned in the post from 6 days ago, was in there from the start, and Monty was the 9th upvote of the deal.

    But you just noticed?

    Right.

    • -1

Who are you talking to? The OP?

  • +4

    Extra .1 cent per dollar, 1c per $10, 10c per $100, $1 per 1000.

    • +1

      Actually the rates are:
      1.35% = 1c reward per 74c spent
      1.25% = 1c reward per 80c spent

The extra 0.1% from Cash Rewards is 0.074c per dollar.

      • +3

        That last sentence isn't correct.

        1.35% = 1c reward per 74c spent = 1.35c per $1 spent
        1.25% = 1c reward per 80c spent = 1.25c per $1 spent

        1.35% - 1.25% = 0.1%
        1.35c per $ - 1.25c per $ = 0.1c per $

        0.1% = 0.1c per $1

  • +6

Just imagine if this was a product that was $100 that is now $99.90.
    Bargain? Not in the slightest.

    • -6

Fair point but it still doesn't make your neg vote valid.
Even if your hypothetical deal was a real deal you still couldn't neg vote it for being $0.10 cheaper than anywhere else.

      • +6

It would be negged to oblivion if it was posted and only 10c cheaper than everywhere else

        • -2

Even without reading the voting guidelines, if you applied common sense, do you really think a website based on bargains would structure their voting system to deter members from posting items at their lowest price?

        • +2

@28Degrees: Lowest price does not mean it's a bargain.

        • +2

@28Degrees: yeah I've never read the voting guidelines, I only go by common sense

        • +2

@grasstown: I have stopped neg voting because the rules are just not fair for it to remain. Did you know if any of your comment gets 6 neg votes, the vote is automatically revoked by the system, even though you have provided a reason.

        • @pmupsinep: It doesn't mean you can neg vote either which is my point.
Grasstown you should really read the voting guidelines along with many other members who don't seem to have a clue, your neg vote is invalid also.

        • All you wrote was how much the extra discount is with this new cashback rate and voted negative.

You didn't do any of the following from the Wiki -

          Appropriate uses of negative vote
*To let others know about issues with the deal, merchant or product.
          *Cheaper price elsewhere
Mention store or URL and price making sure to include shipping.
          *Defective product
          The product has been recalled
Major issue with product in that it doesn't work the way it should.
          *Major issue with retailer
          Didn't receive previous purchase. Example
Shipping time exceeding expected wait. Example

        • +2

@28Degrees: you don't have to do any of those. they are appropriate uses of neg votes. the actual test in the guideline is "Purpose: To let others know about issues with the deal, merchant or product." but they are guidelines, and only guidelines and so something that does not fall within that test, isn't necessarily invalid. it just falls outside the guidelines. but what is an invalid vote is solely at the discretion of the mod. stop going about quoting wrongly and making misrepresentations

        • I have directly copied and pasted so not sure how you think I am quoting wrongly.
Just stating some numbers without any structured sentence to explain why you are voting negative isn't valid.

        • @28Degrees: quoting when you reason that my vote is invalid because "You didn't do any of the following from the Wiki -". you misrepresented that that it the criteria for a valid vote. my numbers were to let others know about an issue with the deal.

        • So what am I meant to go off if I don't follow the guidlines?
I still don't know what the issue is that you were trying to explain with numbers, can you please explain it in words?

        • @28Degrees: but I fall within the guidelines in this instance. I negged to let others know about an issue with the deal. that the saving is an extra .1 cent per dollar, 1c per $10, 10c per $100, $1 per 1000. It is a one thousandth of the price extra off the normal cashback! it is not a bargain and a definite neg worthy deal

go off your common sense, guidelines give examples and you should follow them but don't say that they are binding

        • -1

So in other words you are saying that it's not much of a bargain, which I agree by the way but can't vote negative because that falls under "Inappropriate uses of negative vote"

  • +3

mans gotta eat. gotta hustle dem post yo

  • +1

0.1% is not very much unless you are buying a mansion, jet or helicopter off ebay

  • A saving is a saving. More worthwhile than a freebie at 7 eleven to me. Ta OP..

    • +1

You must be really bad at maths.

      • That's nice to know

    • Its not a saving when its likely these cash rewards systems are pushing prices up.

      • lol…you just love controversy

is there anyone on this site u aint got beef with ?

        • Its called having a business mind.

Nothing in this world comes free and to think that cash back systems are not having an impact, would be naive.

We're on this site for savings right? Well perhaps we need to analyse the chain to see if we're benefiting.

        • @GameChanger:

          Good luck with that.

  • +2

I use Shop and mint for 2%

Ive had every purchase tracked and I've also withdrawn to my PayPal Account as well

Not sure why people use Cashrewards.

    • So many users are having problems, but it seems certain users want that discussion shut down.

  • Back to 1.25% now so this due is expire

  • +6

These guys are a joke, it's lotto if you will get the 'cash rewards!!'

It also seems the higher the value on ebay the less chance you are are of getting the money.

  • +6

An extra 0.10% on top of the original claimed percentage is not a bargain and should be considered a joke. I have stopped using CR after my last $800 purchase @ 8% was never paid.
