That link should renew an existing pass. The link in the OP doesn't verify current pass details and would create a new pass despite the renewal text.
Based on what a friend recieved is apparently for previous passholders not just those with passes that expire June 30 2016.

When it says

does it mean you can take that friend to any of those parks (ie more than 1) in the one day?
I'd assume that if they meant only one, they would have said something more like "one single day entry to either/one of:…."
- this would seem to match the promotion that you the pass holder have access to all the parks also..
But then it says "..or paradise country" which could mean you can only go to one..?
(The idea being that I could take a friend to MW for the morning, then W&W in the arvo)..

One entry to a single park.
I've got my ticket already(yet to visit the parks to get the pass issued), but what I can't figure out is:
With the "invite a friend pass" - do you have to use it on the day you get the VIP Magic Pass issued? Or can you save the friend invite for a later trip (provided it is before 30 June 2016)?
The T&C's are not that clear…
For example I am going tomorrow to Seaworld using the VIP Magic Pass, but I don't intend to invite anyway.
But can I save the "friend invite" for a later trip in June?
In the past it certinally could be used any day prior to June 30', not just on the day you get the pass issued.
Did it issue you an extra ticket with the purchase of the VIP Pass? Previously the way it worked was you presented your pass at a ticket booth, they noted down you redeemed the friend ticket and they issued a ticket valid for that day only,
Which means you couldn't sell the day pass to anyone on eBay or gumtree as it can't be used without the vip pass

No, beware! Those tickets are still only valid until June 30 2016. That important detail is only revealed in the PDF that is emailed with the ticket voucher to take to the ticket office.
I just got off the phone to Village Theme Parks at the Gold Coast and fortunately they (thanks Faye!) were able to upgrade the 4 I bought by me paying the extra $29 which was the difference between the buy 3 get 4 deal. I have to take the PDF I was sent for the 4 tickets plus the additional confirmation code for the $29 to the ticket office.
Just buy the 4 for 3 tickets direct from Village if you need 4 which is $83 each, it's a good price.

It looks like the offer has been extended till June 30th.
Groupon may run a 10% off promotion before the expiry date, so possibly a chance to save a little more.
