The have increased prices after this sale has become active dodgy pratice

  • The good guys increased the price for Fitbit Charge HR from $174 to $194 after 25 units sold in two days. Unbelievable!

  • +1

Yep prices increased at TGGs. What a load of BS. I was looking at an arlo security system. Was $465 yesterday. It's now $547.

    • Yeah i was looking at the ARLO as well. What idiots just costing themselves sales

    • +1

check between the hours of 7pm-7am….

      • +1

Hi It was $465 yesterday at about 4:30PM. I'll check again but I doubt they would bring it down to $465 again.

    • for some reason postage increase as well for DSLR which i was thinking of buying, from $6 to $16, joke!

  • bought the TCL 50E5900US UHD TV for $619 (after the pre paid visa redemption) which is pretty good. Let's hope it's not half bad, has a 3 year warranty, which is much more than the big companies. Only needs to last that long until OLED technology is at a viable price.

    • Where did you find the pre paid redemption? That model is currently 895, then less 20%
Although they want 55 for delivery.

      • +1

        https://secure.edgepromos.com.au/TCLPromotion/default.aspx
I got it for $887. $709.60 after 20% off. Effectively $619.60 after I receive the $90 Visa card.
Pick it up, unless you're nowhere near a good guys. Try price match to a local electronics store and pray

        • Too far away from a Good Guys store.

I've noticed this ebay sale, prices have been jumping around all over, and including the shipping costs too.

        • @albanyson: Have just seen an items shipping price go from $35 yesterday to $70.88 today, yet on their website it's only $8 shipping.

        • @kash1:
31.56 for the nutri ninja slim…

Up from the $3 I paid, and up from the $5 I saw after that…..

The TV delivery has gone up to 105.88.

        • How's the TV. Good quality/happy?
I'm still looking and with the TGG 20% eBay on again, probably get one now.
          Although this model
50E5900US is now $949 pre discount

        • +1

@albanyson: I'm really happy with it, obviously there's some flaws like it's not great if you want to use it for smart apps (but I've used a 2015 Samsung and it was equally bad)

Free to air looks good on it though, lots of settings to perfect everything for each source

I've tried 4k videos on it and it's beautiful

The actual unit itself looks nice too, thin bezel, simple design.

I'd recommend it unless you have specific needs

I use it with shield TV most of the time and it's Perfect, especially when you consider the price and what it compares to in that price range

Sorry for the badly formatted paragraph, but if you have any questions or anything specific feel free to ask and I'll see if I can help

Ps. Mine is having troubles with hdmi-CEC, as in its not working. I've contacted TCL and they've been quick to reply and tried to help. They've since set up the national product manager to call me and talk about my problem.
Surely it will just be a firmware update soon

        • @TheButLover:
          Thanks alot
I'm watching that one and the cheaper FHD model, currently at 578. Pre discount.
The5900 has the extra 90 on redemption atm.
I've noticed the Netflix app and other smart tv functions lag a bit with the TCL
          Whats the CEC?
There's a big noticable jump in price from the 50 to a 55.
I'd like a big tv like 55-60, but the price of the 50is tempting.

        • +1

@albanyson: Up to you, I went for the UHD model because it's the newest so there's a few added benefits. It's future proofed, freeview plus, couple more I can't remember.
Go for what suits you, if you want bigger, get the bigger, 50 suits us perfectly.
do you need in built Netflix? I've never liked the apps provided in tvs. Have you looked at using a chromecast or a roku or something like that. Normally much faster and easier to use. Plus you can upgrade when they get old for new gear and keep the old TV.
Hdmi-CEC is being able to use the TV remote to control connected devices. Handy when it works, but TCL are sorting it out now

        • @TheButLover:
Thinking to buy the 50E5900. Sold on that one with the UHD and price/promo
Can you do me a favour please, it's not listed on the TCL website
          http://tclelectronics.com.au/product/55-4k-ultra-hd-led-smar…
Could you measure please the width of the legs/stand. Inside and outside of the two legs.
My TV cabinet has decorative trim on top, and want to confirm the legs don't sit on this trim/wobble etc. And can sit square on the cabinet.
          Thanks alot.

        • @TheButLover:
          How is the tV guide?
Is it pretty usable or is it rubbish? Does it keep the guide in memory or do u need to flock through channels each time you turn the tV off then on again?

        • @leeroys_dad: Honestly it's not great, it's useable.
There's 2 options, using the in built one or using the freeview plus guide, you do this by pressing the green button on the remote, takes about 8 seconds to kick in but it's smoother than the inbuilt.
Just checked, it needs to be refreshed every time it is turned on and to make matters worse, each network needs to be refreshed in the guide. So when you click down to Eleven, everything from network ten refreshes (ie 10, 11, one)
Not great but even expensive tvs are painful to use these days.

Using the freeview guide is much better IMO and it refreshes every network at once and you stay with the screen watching tv so it's not annoying everyone. Oh and you can set reminders etc there.

        • @TheButLover:
          Thanks mate!

  • Anyone having issues with cashreward tracking your order?

    • +1

      plenty

most of my Feb ebay purchase still pending without any date of completion

they do track in a few days time

Just cash out mine just now, just in case they go southwards

      • +4

Cashreward going downhill from a few months back, not tracking and rejecting some orders. they don't answer queries anymore. pretty much a lottery to get it.

        I cash out every $5 ;)

      • I made 2 purchases and just received an email from cashreward for both the purchases.

    • Didn't capture my order. Disappointed.

    • I decided to give CashRewards another go. Made two purchases with eBay. Both didn't track.

      • I stopped bothering a long time ago.

      • Have you tried a different browser or disabled any adblockers you have?

    • 4 eBay purchases for same seller on Monday, May 2, 2016 are tracking with an Estimated: 25 June 2016 date

Also a purchase from House 17 April 2016 didn't show up with correct amount so I placed a manual request and got Estimated: 16 July 2016 + the incorrect one still pending.

My last Approved eBay purchase on 01 Feb 2016 was Approved: 04 Apr 2016.

I also once had a $699 eBay transaction that I cancelled and never purchased approved.

Hopefully my eBay purchase from Monday afternoon will show up.

    • I have had almost 0 luck with Cashrewards and ebay. It seems to capture every other transaction but almost never ebay. Never been able to work out what i'm doing wrong

      • -2

100% success rate for me (I have over 25 ebay transactions). You sure you don't have some adblocker or ghostery? I have both but temporarily disable them when making purchases.

        • Its just weird how it works for everything else. Have only had 1 failure EVER for Cashrewards (non-Ebay) and about 10-15 failures for Ebay

        • @jellykingdom:
Actually MY MISTAKE I take it back. I just checked and a lot of my stuff hasn't tracked. Didn't realise how much crap I buy on ebay.

        • @gimme: I just gave up trying with Cashrewards and Ebay. I still buy heaps of stuff, but am missing out on a lot of cashbacks by not doing it

        • It's hit and miss for me.

I still use it as I think the chance of extra cashback is better than none, but have started using Pricepal more in recent times when possible (so far, PP seems to track much better than CR).

There's one transaction I made via Cashrewards, which was 2 items from 2 different sellers on Ebay, but I paid for both in the same transaction as I'd added them both to cart. Only one item tracked on CR, the other didn't.

I'd like to know how they can track one purchase but not another when they were paid for in the same payment/transaction?

        • +1

          @Baltoski:
send that feedback to TA. if we miss out on cashback, they also miss out so i think they will want to get to the bottom of it!

  • Moto G 3rd Gen (the 2GB RAM /16GB Storage version) goes down to $255.20 with this deal, which is a great price for one of these (I got it for the same price back in December 2015).

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Motorola-XT1550-Moto-G-3rd-Ge…

  • Anything worth buying?

    • +1

      Nothing. Wait for EOFY sale.

    • +1

No laptops i'm interested in (about 40 in total but all kinda meh)

  • Looking for a good semi-portable speaker (battery) - any good deals. see there are UE, sony brands but I don't know what is value.

We go camping and bought a Jayco camper. Looking for a battery powerd BT speaker (or 3.5mm jack) we can run in the tent annex.

    • +1

We've got a UE Megaboom and a Boom 2. Both awesome speakers. The Boom 2 is good value at $156.80.

The Megaboom was $246 on TGG eBay store the day the 20% sale started which would have brought it down to under $200. They decided to up the price to $288.

  • Wasn't this deal supposed to expire by midnight on the 18th (little while ago), or they extended the date? Or maybe I am mistaking it for another deal.

  • TGG's after dark sale prices aren't updates on their eBay page. This happened last night at about 10pm. Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

    • yes, and the postage went up to i noticed

      • I noticed this too, this is disappointing. Postage doubled for the item I want to purchase, from $40 to $80.
I messaged The Good Guys via ebay asking if the After Dark Sales price should be reflected on ebay, they just said the prices are subject to change.

        • So…. should we wait for the afterdark sale today in the hope the ebay prices will come down or is it a forgone conclusion they will not? Tightarse you able to comment?

        • @Catarack21: Prices haven't changed :( Shipping increased form $8 to $16 LOL

        • @DDTW:

Yeah I am very disappointed too. The prices weren't adjusted for the after dark period yesterday (7pm-7am), and they haven't today either.

          I am curious why…

        • Delivery went up even further today for a refrigerator, $80 to $120, this is outrageous.
if you're spending over $300, I suggest going into the Good Guys and asked them to match the EBay price or get as close as possible and use the Amex offer to get $50 back.

        • @jmchin: do they match it? because its an eBay promotion.

        • @DDTW:

Yeh I didnt find any differece across their range greatly. Got

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Lenovo-ZA0R0015AU-Tab-3-A7-10…

for $77.60 which is pretty good (and hopefully cashback)

Was hoping to find the older A-20 but not listed. New one Bevel cheapens it.

        • @adii: Unfortunately not, but I had a number of Amex offers which got me $100 better the ebay price.

  • I really wanted to buy the Panasonic TZ110, $719 after 20% OFF.

The cheapest I can find it is $718 as a Hong Kong import from an online store within Australia.

No Bing Lee stores in SA, and Good Guys don't stock it! Disappointed :(

    • I don't understand, choose postage and be done with it. several people (including me) has used the code for delivery and it works just fine.

  • Anyone recommend any Decent (Efficient) Washing Machines form the sale? My 10yr old LG Front Loader is begging to retire

      • How reliable are Bosch in terms of long term durability and have you personally been able to compare the wash quality of a Bosch against another brand? Keen to move away from the popular LG/Samsung but dont have enough first hand experience to go off.

        • Bosch is 3x more reliable than LG/Samsung. Read the reviews and decide yourself. Make sure you go to the shop and check the build quality.

          https://mark.reevoo.com/reevoomark/en-AU/product?sku=5003361…

        • @PW: Was in Harvey Norman earlier and the rep said he had both made in germany as well as made in india and it varied between the models. I am assuming they are moving all manufacturing to india? Couldnt find the linked model so will have a look elsewhere before buying.

      • We have a Bosch 8.5kg and never had an issue in 2 years, it's not the cheapest but we are very happy!

    • +1

Already gave these out to someone else on here but if you are interested choice magazine latest review on washing machines recommendations from the sale are LGWD14024D6 8kg front loader scored 82% with top score & Fisher & Paykel WL1068P1 10kg top loader scored 74%.

      • Thanks for this, didn't see your other post. The LG seems decent but the wash barrel of the front loader seems to be smaller in size compared to my current 7kg LG. I'll have a look in-store this afternoon to get a better feel of it.
In saying that they seem to have reduced the size of most barrel's. Makes it difficult to fit a quilt when you need to do it a handful of times a year.

        • +1

FYI The best 10kg front loader was ELECTROLUX EWF14012 i think it's a new model scored 79/100 its on the good guys website i think but not their ebay site i don't think, anyway as mentioned before remember to check prices between 7pm - 7am for the Good Guys after dark sale ,finishing tonight i think.

        • @Triple J: Thanks for that - Will Defs keep an eye out to see if the prices actually drop. Trying to avoid a 10kg as usually ends up using more energy/water for smaller cycles. The 8kg one looks like a good middle ground at this stage.

        • @Drifta: my mistake ,i read it as your old washer was 10kg instead of 10 yr old

        • @Triple J: All good :)

      • Triple J - thanks for sharing. How did the 7.5kg WD14023D6 score? Guy at Good Guys told me that LG will stop production of this model, apparently, when I asked him about the difference to the other cheaper 7.5kg model.

        • +1

Scored well @79% overall choice recommendations are 80% overall & 80% dirt removal it scored 80% dirt removal so missed out by 1% overall score in being recommended , brand reliability was 86% 3rd top scorer with bosch & miele being highest so pretty good score.

    • Can anyone comment if Bing Lee or Good Guys will also connect the hose and put the washer into place (out from the box and adjust leveling), etc? Or is the delivery just a delivery?

  • Has anyone had problems with cashrewards tracking lately. I've had tones of purchases through eBay lately and NONE of them have been tracked. Tried contacting them for weeks and not a thing. I think it's time people stop putting cashrewards here. Seems like these guys are no longer working with eBay purchases.

    • +1

Never had a problem with Cashrewards and eBay purchases. Currently have 4 purchases made on 1st May from same seller and 1 purchase from 16th May tracking and awaiting approval.

I just make sure to start eBay from within Cashrewards and not have any purchases I want to buy in my watchlist.

Had a transaction recently from another site that didn't show correct amount so put in a manual request for missing transaction. The purchase is now showing and awaiting approval.

    • +1

Are you using any Ad-Blockers? Make sure they are disabled before using CashRewards.
I ordered 2 big items from eBay on Monday and received my tracking emails today.

    • I've gone as far as having a separate browser installed so that I can completely clear everything before loading up Cash Rewards. Never had anything not track, although had an ebay sale rejected once.

      • I'm wondering if Cashrewards has some problems with Chrome browser? I'm using that exclusively and no, I don't have any ad blocker or anything (though I don't run Flash by default)

        • I used Chrome for my purchases and seemed OK. Did you previously have the item on a watch list or in cart before using the CashRewards link?

        • @ruddj: Yes I can't quite remember, but some items were in a Watchlist. Funny thing is everything used to work fine until just a month or so ago.

    • My purchase today was tracked and an email sent to me within 30 min - but my purchase last week took over 7 days to get the email. I got the tracked emails together today. ODD

      • You were just lucky. Getting them to pay up is harder than to win lotto.

    • Has anyone had problems with cashrewards tracking lately.

Yes, before I had the same problem. I had to send them multiple emails to get things sorted after 2 LONG MONTHS of waiting time.

  • Can still get Fujitsu cashback on aircon if bought via ebay?

    • From my experience with other items, there shouldn't be any issue whatsoever with this because you get an official tax invoice (For example, The Good Guys tax invoice) just like the ones you would have received had you purchased in-store or from online directly.

  • Can anyone recommend a good deal for a mobile phone as was kogan lg g4 for $370?

  • So if you buy Good Guys stuff from Ebay, on the Good Guys invoice is it the original price? or is it after the 20%? Im wondering if its the original price can I still get the best price guarantee from Good Guys? Anyone knows??

    • +1

Original price. I thought about the best price guarantee before but never tried, let us know how you went should you decide to do it.

      • +1

Yeah I did it and used the claim form online and got the 120% difference. Just waiting for it to arrive in the mail over the next three weeks.

        • Great info,.thanks!!

  • +3

Managed to pricematch GoodGuys Lumia 640 at Microsoft Store in Sydney. Paid $159.20 which is the price at Goodguys ebay store including the discount.

  • Heads up regarding what Masters put up on the site.

I was after a full Ego lawn set but only a few things were up. I saved an eBay search looking for ego on the Masters store and eventually a whipper snipper popped up for sale. After I bought it it disappeared again. A day later a mower popped up and I bought that. They may be slowly feeding the high cost stuff so they don't commit to selling more they can deliver. I suggest keeping a close eye on it cause after 5 days I've now got all I wanted.

    • To follow I search I went to http://www.ebay.com.au/rpp/Masters, scroll down to the search the sale search box and enter search term. In the result click follow this search. I've found some other ways of searching don't allow the follow this search option.

  • Anyone want to very good and cheap carpet cleaner?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Bissell-Powerwash-Deluxe-Vacu…

RRP is close to 600 bucks!

  • Ebay has seemingly removed TGG from their 20% off pick-up deal??

    • +1

nah still in t&cs, banner and code still working for them. just that their link on the left column is gone lol

      • Yes i just realised after testing the code out :) False alarm

  • +1

The Good Guys removed all Tvs and probably other products from their store, one of the staff at my local store said these eBay promotions hurt their sales?! I thought eBay was the one providing the discount. Seems strange. Picked up a DeLonghi panel heater before they delisted it though.

    • +3

I just looked for dishwashers, none to be found at TGG and was thinking about a new tablet, they have all gone too.
That will teach me for being a cunctator 😉

      • All Dysons seemed to have been removed - all Gopros as well at TGG!!!
Was waiting for the weekend to purchase - this time it seems Ive waited too long!

        • Same here. I was going to get the Dyson V6. I wonder if/when ebay will have another 20% off for TGG.

      • +3

Cunctator… now here's a word I'd like to see more widespread use.
