  • I iz getting the pink ones for mahself

  • gee I wish it was vic….grrr

For those that are wondering, the cost of the plates are usually $110 - $200 up front
So this offer makes them $55 - $100 to order.

NOTE that the $440 annual fee remains the same.

the $440 annual fee is the killer since that makes rego as much as $800 a year in total

    i will pass this 'offer'

    • +1

agree, i'm also bitter about the annual fee. I remember back in the day it was a once off fee

      • +1

same they are just trying to make more money

      • not a bargain, but cannot neg because this will be cheapest anyone could get it done for.
just another license to print money

  • Its just over 600 per year to have your car registered in vic….

    • Does that include CTP? In NSW you gotta pay $rego + $CTP separately = ~$700-$800

    • The $440 annual fee is just a fee to have personalised plates. Its not the registration fee. That is additional, as is CTP.

      • +3

In Vic, you pay for the plates once, and then there is no extra annual fees (you pay the same rego as everyone else).

    • +1

VIC includes CTP. NSW does not include CTP in its rego.

It's the gift that keeps on costing mum more and more each year - I'm sure she'll be thrilled!!

Minimum $90 per year for the basic ones, up to $440/year.

Good deal if you were thinking of getting them anyway, but not otherwise…

  • Title should state clearly 50% OFF for setup , the $440 annual fee is the elephant in the room and should be noted for those interested in the offer, cheers

  • Misread title, only valid for uber expensive plates and not the $110 upfront and $90 /yr plates. Pass :(

  • +1

NSW is most expensive state to own a car, regos, ctp, insurance, parking fine etc. no wonder this offer is only available in NSW, no thanks, I'll pass.

  • Man you guys do it funny… I mean the rego here in vic is getting much more expensive but you don't have to pay a yearly fee just because your plates are different.

    • You guys are better off with rego too. Your rego includes CTP and costs ~$700 (someone above stated that. Its accuracy i'm not too sure). Our rego is ~$280 which can only be obtained after you pay CTP which is another $670 (might be cheaper if your older???). We've got the worst of both worlds

You can save $55 on something that still requires $440+$55 upfront, and will end up costing $2200 over 5 years. RTA are a bunch of jokers.

    • You said it man….

  • Imagine what you can buy for $2,200 over five years. What do these jokers in government waste our money on?

  • -1

    Government is running so inefficiently.
collecting money, but not inproving the road condition.
So I will give a Negative!!!

    • they are simply selling the plates - you are talking about a separate issue

      • actually myplates has been outsourced ever since they changed it to be a yearly fee.
those bastards are just ripping us off and theres not much we can do about it because people are just willing to pay it.

  • $440 every year for what?
