Checked highpint, Epping, Sunbury, greensborough, Northland and craigieburn. none in stock. Lady on phone in Sunbury said can order online and do click and collect at her store, as that's what her manager told her. But alas…

        • Just buy online and click on collect at the store you want, it is free.

        • @superforever: tried again on my phone and a friend's and still unable to purchase online :(

Wow…thank you so much for the table tennis table link!! I saw your post at work and a friend and I rushed in and bought the last 2 tables at the Mackay store. The lady who served us almost fell over when she saw the price. This has got to be one of the BEST ozbargain deals I have purchased. Cheers again!!

      • wow they actually have the table in stock …

        • Yep….and in bloody rural Mackay!!

        • @Tony555:

  • Good for bashers, not for real table tennis players

  • If you scroll down the deals page really slow, you'll see the top part of the thumbnail looks like a butt. I know. This comment has got nothing to do with the deal, but I thought it was funny how that looked.

  • For starters, you can get decent bats (with rubbers) for $10 to $20 from aliexpress.com.

This one is bad because pips out rubbers are no good for beginners, and the quality of the bats at such price would ruin the feelings of playing.

    • +2

$10-$20 too much for me, maybe not for legit players but good enough to use for a casual hit

    • Yep agree.. Spend $30 on a good bat if you want to improve..

  • Thanks, ordered one :)

  • Thanks OP bought two

Can't stop here, it's bat country!

  • Arent these illegal in competition

      Only if you're injecting them…

Hmm not really related to this deal, but any one know any good deals on a decent table tennis table?

    • +1

You should be able to get a well-priced decent table (≥16mm thickness – below this, the bounce tends to be inconsistent and lower than ideal) from
      Ksports https://www.k-sports.com
      or TR Sports http://www.trsports.com.au

      • Wow :) Thanks!

      • Can vouch for the 19mm..very solid table.. Comes in two pieces.. I bought it for $199 delivered.. 2 years ago though

      • Are they the same company?

        • No, they're competitors. You can occasionally see one taking a dig at the other's product in their eBay ads!

        • @hangdog:

The 25mm double happiness ones from TR Sports look a bit unusual and not like any DHS tables I have ever seen (I don't think that one is ITTF approved?) while the double fish one seems like it is. Did you buy one from here?

        • @tlai:
I bought an outdoor table from TR last year (thick MDF tables are best, but I don't have a suitable fully-indoors playing space).

My table has "Double Happiness" on it but I don't think it is a genuine DHS table – it just happened to be the cheapest aluminium-topped outdoor table by a couple of hundred bucks. I'd be surprised if the 25mm DHS ones at TR were real DHS either. They aren't bad tables for the money, it just seems unlikely that they are genuine DHS.

If you are talking about a decent competition table, I wouldn't go any less than 25mm. If it is not for competition, any table will do. XuShaoFa championship table (despite what is says, at one point it was ITTF approved but is no longer) from ksports is relatively cheap for the quality at around $500 - $600 brand new. I'm sure if you called OOAK or Table Tennis World, you can haggle with delivery as they love under cutting or check if they have any seconds available. If you don't like the brand, try looking for second hand Stiga Expert Rollers which seem to always be floating around.

IMO though it is not worth owning a table, it is novelty at first and then just occupies space. If you're serious about competition go to your local club instead, just don't bring the spalding bats with no sponges on them because you'll get awkward looks LOL.

Wish I could pick up that $27.30 table to replace my own when we have parties. A little part of me dies when I see a good table tennis table used for beer pong or literally just that, a table..
