      Adamantium.

      Black?

  • That's just under $7.70 per inch. You could be paying upwards of $35 per inch on big name brand LCD FHD tv's. It's all about the ppi.

That's just under $7.70 per inch

AND you'll get better colour quality than a $77.00 box set of John Holmes videos.

  • Too much to hope that it would be 100Hz

  • Anyone can recommend that? I'm looking for a new TV without spending too much, eventually playing ps4 on it

      @$419 I'd say you can't go wrong.

      • Now the hardest part is to find it …

        • Updated OP, 8 @ Penrith as of right now.

Call the national number to get local stock (delayed by 48 hours).

  • Great work OP, I don't think there's ever been a cheaper price for the 54.5". ?!

    • Well not to brag or anything… But I got a similar 54.5 one from dick Smith in the December fire sales for $209 =D

  • Can anyone vouch? I've been patiently waiting for an upgrade to my 40 inch TV since I foolishly let this 70in tv slide by last year. At $420 I might just take the plunge (if I can find one).

    • If you really need a TV then go for it.
If there's no urgency, just wait til the next eBay sale.

I got my Sony 55' for $850 during the last eBay sale. Yes, it is more than double the price of this, but the Sony has a better picture and will last longer.

A decent comment about it on whirlpool here

It's a generic TV, running the exact same firmware as what Kogan use, with the exact same remote control as what Kogan use.

The picture is pretty good, nice and clear. No backlight bleed issues, no issues with motion, black levels aren't bad but aren't amazing. For $549, we're super pleased.

Sound… that's another matter. Completely hopeless. Get yourself a soundbar or 5.1 system, because it's woeful.

Also see the comments on the previous deal, there is a little bit there.

just picked up from bondi junction and they seemed to have a couple in stock, slight image bleed but decent motion, sound is ok definitely needed to turn colour down which requires factory menu (press menu, 1,1,4,7) any recommendations or advise is greatly appreciated

  • any stock near brisbane?

  • Just set mine up. Was always against the no name cheapies but it's exceeded my expectations. 3 years warranty (Plus extra 2 years on credit card) makes it a safe buy.

i had one of these.. returned it shortly after.. these are the worst tvs to buy.. heaps of ghosting and remote needs to be directly in front of the sensor to work

  • Picked up last one at St Mary's. Just set it up and looks good. Great value at $419 and 3 years warranty from target what more can u ask for.

I bought one of these about a month ago at 4:30 in the afternoon. I was lining up at opening time the next day to return it. Picture is awful and the speakers sound like they are actually tin cans.

  • So there's those that bought this model and hated it, returned it,.. there's those that say it's great value, better than expected,..

I got the 48" $399 the other day, so want to see if I can find stock of this 54" now and return the smaller one. I am very happy with the quality of the 48" for the price and would suspect the 54" to be the same sort of panel, performance, etc… does anyone know if it's the same panel/specs just with a larger screen? Would the 54" be remarkably different (ie worse) than the 48" in the same series/year?

    • You cant assume everything will be the same but bigger just because its got the same brand name on the front. It could be, but it could just as easily be completely different. Platinum could source different size panels and/or other components from multiple suppliers. They could also source the whole tv from different suppliers for different sizes and just put their brand on it.

  • None at mt gravatt

Just picked up an Onix 55" for $350 ($450 three months ago) from Castle Hill lol.

Apparently 3 at Parramatta and 2 at Rouse Hill go go go!

    • No more at the towers?

      • +1

Nope but I just asked the dude at Parra and he confirmed there is one left at the back!

  • There's an ex display model at Castle Hill with "-5%" sticker on it. It's packaged in the box.

  • Any stock in melbourne?
