My wife got a flyer in her email with details of a 48 hour sale at Baby Bunting. We have been looking at the InfaSecure car seats and the Kompressor Caprice is the step above the Neon and is pretty heavily discounted to $179.
InfaSecure Kompressor Caprice $179 (RRP $369) @ Baby Bunting

They had an original price of $249.88 so better to put that instead of the RRP of $369.
Nice 1 star safety ratings for several categories.

OP's seat is 3/5 star, but to say "Guess some parents can afford to have a kid but can't afford to keep them safe?" is just ridiculous and ignorant.
Yes my comment was probably a bit extreme so apologies for that.
Main point here is that i'm trying to draw attention to SAFETY of car seats instead of just price/aesthetics.
The whole point of a child car seat is to keep your child safely restrained and choosing a seat shouldn't be based on price alone.
In fact, some of the most expensive seats (well ones around the $500-600 range) actually performed poorer in the crash test than the sub $200 seats.
At the end of the day, I hope all parents looking to buy a child car seat take the time to look at these independent and government backed crash test reviews and then choose the safest seat in their price range. (see here: https://www.childcarseats.com.au/)
I've previously purchased a Babylove Ezy Combo for around the same price as the one that the OP listed, but it (on paper) seems to have a higher safety rating than the Kompressor Caprice. Also, you have to be mindful in how the tests are scored, it's like most test ratings these days, they constantly change. Someone 5yrs ago could've bought a 4-5 star seat, which is now only 2-3 stars in the new test. No different to ANCAP star ratings, Energy efficiency ratings on appliances, etc etc. It's not to say that 1 seat is bad and 1 is good. You should be saying that 1 seat is "good" and 1 is "better".
Good point.
It IS important to review their test scores as they definitely do change over time.
The first convertible seat I purchased had one of the highest ratings at the time, but a couple years later I noticed it had dropped a star (hence I got rid of it and purchased a newer/safer seat).
So which car seat that don't have 1 star rating?
None. None have 5 stars for a rear facing 0-12mo
Saw that they've got booster seats included in the sale too, and I bought up one.
Cheers, I did too.
Bought this seat a couple of years ago and I am very happy with it. It was one of the most compact ones out at the time. I think I ended up paying $250 which was good as it was selling for $369. Great price
