Isn't this the model that is missing a 3.5mm audio port?

    • +1

they give you a USB-c to 3.5mm port in the box i believe. I guess they're trying to push their Bluetooth audio gear at the same time.

      • Probably helps a lot with looks but damn, that could be a big ommission - I've yet to use any BT device that works for games properly in terms of basic audio syncing.

Thinking about the length of a 3.5mm jack that USB-C -> 3.5mm could be a bit … clumsy.

        • You could probably just duct tape the adapter to the 3.5mm jack and keep it permanently attached.

Would look Ghetto, but less clumsy.

        • @scrimshaw: The duct tape will compliment the sophisticated looking rose gold colour scheme wonderfully, I'd go for the silver stuff they use for hot pipes.

    No Band 28 700MHz for Telstra/Optus 4G…A big loss for a $500+ phone.

  • Dual Nano SIM card dual standby <- what does this mean in practice, why are they pointing out dual standby as a feature? (I've never used a dual sim device before)

    • Dual SIM dual standby (AKA: DSDS) means both SIMS are ready to receive calls at any time.
As opposed to Dual-Sim Standby where the user must choose which SIM is active to receive voice calls. These phones don't exist anymore and pretty much every Dualsim Droid now is DSDS

      • Gotcha … can you have one sim for data service and another for voice/sms simultaneously yet?

        • +1

          SIM slot1 = 4G, 3G, 2G, calls and data
          SIM slot2 = 2G only, only calls

Can transfer data while calling on SIM1 and SIM2, but only 1 phone call can be active at any time. Incoming calls are simply missed as 'busy'.

        • @scrimshaw: Actually, the second sim is 3G voice like the Mi 5. So this will be good for when the 2G network shuts down.

        • @kcuf:

huh, really? Sounds like a pretty good feature already.

        • my son uses an Aldi Sim for his voice calls and an Optus data share sim off my 10 gb plan for data …. works a treat on his redmi note 2.

        • @kcuf:
That's only if one sim is able to support 4G. You cant have both sims active on the same band. So SIM1 is getting 4G and SIM2 is getting 3g. Problem is the phone doesn't have band 28 to support 4G (Telstra/Optus) like all the chinese phones coming out.

Therefore if you are on those networks you will get SIM1 3G and SIM2 2G and 2G sucks for receiption! am back to 2 phones at the moment due to the amount of missed calls I was getting with my dual sim (second sim 2g) Moto G.

  • $500 for a no-name chinese phone? LMAO!!!

No name Chinese phone? LetV is quiet big in Asia and their phones looks pretty good.

Like HandsomeMonkey said, they're quite big. They've been around for over 12 years, employee over 5000 staff, their revenue was 3.7 billion US dollars last year and they're on the stock exchange. They've even got their own Wikipedia page ;)

      • not to mention they were well regarded at the 2016 CES in Las Vegas

        • Many large Chinese companies were at CES 2016 including Geekbuying :)

        • @Clear: While youre on the thread, can you clarify the delivery date? Is that the day it is stock to you, or to be received by us?

        • @Olliethechum: Date GB receive stock.

    • lack of band 28 in a $500 phone is more of an issue …. you buy these types of phones to consume data and then there is no band 28 where all the new capacity and capabilities are being rolled out for data.

  • will wait for 6G ram version.

    • its on Aliexpress atm. I cant justify the extra 100 though. Haha what do you plan on doing that requires 6gb or ram?
      fyi http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Original-Letv-LeEco-Le-Max-2-…

      • it's over priced compare to Taobao, see whether can get someone bring me one from China
No Band 28 700MHz for Telstra/Optus 4G… does this hurt me much if I keep using Vodafone?

        • pretty sure voda use 2100 (b40 if im not mistaken). should be right

        • Check below. Quite a few bands will work with Vodafone.

          http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/mobile_phone_frequencies

        • I think Voda has 850mhz for their new 4 g offering …… at this price from china I would have expected an all band phone …… Apple, Samsung Sony lg hve been able to make them for years ….. probably just firmware .

  • +2

    Lee&co 'Le BS' for $500.

No one in their right mind will buy this for use in OZ.

    • +1

yeh at $500 it's getting into the all band phablet phone segment in Australia and we get some good specials eg the moto x style deal for $299 fro Voda …. unlocked all band phablet .

  • Some manufacturers are starting to put band 28 in their phones like this one.

  • no SD card slot, ignored.
