    They're probably used staff t-shirts!

  • +3

People can buy These and the plastic bags to start their own Dicksmith store simulator. Nostalgia

  • +2

Not a bad idea to buy these if new, and give them to the local charity.

  • +1

We all OzBargainers should buy one of these and wear it as funeral attire on the day Dicky Smith finally closes its door.

  • Thought they were already closed?

  • Does anyone know which DSE stores in Sydney are still open and when they will close? I know Burwood Westfield DSE will be closing tomorrow (Monday 2 May)

  • Any stores in VIC selling these??

    • +1

Bourke St in city. They got S and double XL available

  • I remember reading an article that any remaining stores were going to cease trading on April 30th?

They were $0.50 for one at my local one (before they closed).

      • Cant even give em away…..

      • This was a day or so ago. Local store shuts tomorrow, will report back if they've been reduced to 25 cents, ha.

not a bargain! ;) picked up a DS shirt Friday in Maroochydore for $1, 5 minutes before the store closed permanently. Im surprised there are still stores open

    • +1

why NOT a bargain? Your "deal" is not available anymore.Maybe "not as good" but definitely a great bargain! I also visited DS Miranda yesterday and I saw this amazing deal, but I didn't post due to low stock.

    • Was it a polo shirt or t-shirt?

  • +8

You know its bad when they are even selling their shirts - really pitiful!

Such a shame that it took one of the duopoly to destroy a household name - and then a bunch of finance people to really finish it off after having sucked the blood out of it.

Dick Smith Electronics lost its way when it started competing with every other home appliance retailer (without the competitive pricing) and basically "told" the electronics enthusiast to get lost and go elsewhere.

And that is why Jaycar is still around!

      Alright Whoopi, enough preaching

        He has a point.

  • Out of all the deals they've had in the past year, this is the only one that actually entices me.

Any stores closer to Sydney that's selling them?

  • Bankstown had them today. Just went in only for nostalgia. Staff telling people not to buy demo iPads as they aren't covered by warranty and not cheap.

  • Wouldn't mind buying a sign or something once they go on sale.

  • Sad this is really the end of DSE but I am not going to be one of those cheap so and so's wearing corporate promotional gear around to save a buck on clothing lol.

  • why dont they just donate them to developing countries? yeesh

  • Are the Dick Smiths in Melbourne Emporium, Bourke Street or Chadstone Shopping Centre worth a visit? Don't want to waste time going if any of the DSEs I'm interested in have closed down.

EDIT: According to http://www.ferrierhodgson.com/au/-/media/ferrier/files/media…, Emporium and Bourke Street's DSE will be open until 3-May and Chadstone's will be open until 2-May.

  • Bugger missed the above info….RIP 3rd May DS!

  • does it say Sexpert in the front? Or was it Techperts? Or Perverts?

Got 2 XL at $1 each as they only had XL and 3XL. The XL is too big so I'll use one for around the house and the other as bit of a keepsake of a company that had been around since I was a kid. The polo shirts were fairly popular in sales when I was there. People were buying boxes of Beats 2.0 headphones (I think that's what they're called) at $149 each. Very popular too. The staff were grateful for every sale and I wish them all the best.

  • +1

Buy a box and hand them out to the homeless.
Buy a second box to send to Nauru.

    • +1

They are probably homeless because of Dick Smith shares.

  • Are there any shirts/other bargains at the sydney stores (westfield/george st)???

  • +1

I was at this store yesterday afternoon. They didn't have my size they were all too big.
Ended up buying 2 dump bins, 2 big shelf racks, 1 massive glass display cabinet, 1 blender glass jug (mums one is broken) and some display shelves/desks.

  • Only could get xl in syd store

  • Are they unused?
    How's the quality?

    I have a question for the 251 upvoters….

What in the world is this actually good for?

    • +4

      A laugh.

It's the last time we get to vote for Dick Smith.

Has the new policy on positive votes come into effect yet?

      • Ahhh.. right for the lulz. Was just curious as to why people found this an amazing deal. It's not like as if it's fundraising for the employees to get paid some sort of decent severance.

        Fair enough though.

PS: Whoever negged me can eat of bowl of dick…smiths.

  • They are going for 50c now in Sydney CBD store, but only 3XL size left

  • Grabbed one at the Sydney George Street store today for 50c! Seriously my favourite bargain ever :P
