640K ought to be enough for anybody. Why do you need 16000000K?

Sorry grandpa, I would like my PC to boot!
Great deal, I bought the same sticks of RAM for ~$115 only a few weeks ago.
I just bought the 2666mhz………
Me too lol :-(
Just a heads up, I have these and have some issues running at the full 3000mhz on a z170 board, apparently these are a disguised 2800mhz, and that's what seems to be stable. I think these were made for x99 boards originally, so xmp profile doesn't work for me, and so you might also need to manually input the settings. Even at 2800mhz it runs well and still excellent value as I got these for about $120, so a bargain at this price.
Most of the Z170 boards I've used have required a BIOS update to fix DDR4 XMP profile compatibility issues - have you tried updating yours?
Which board are you using? I think it depends on the manufacturer so it's a case of board(bios) + ram compatibility, rather than a blanket z170 issue.
I just cancelled my 32gb of 2400mhz for 154 delivered, it was still on backorder anyway and according to these ratings, it seems to make quite a difference in FPS going 3000mhz C15:
http://translate.google.com/translate?depth=7&hl=en&rurl=tra…
Only thing is the timings aren't exactly the same, the article says CL15-15-15-32, and Amazon says these are Tested Latency: 15-17-17-35…
How many FPS are we talking about?
The above link shows some stats running i7 6700k with 980ti:
- CSGO 195(3000mhz) vs 183(2400mhz) FPS
- GTAV ~4 FPS difference
It's a minimal cost to get the faster RAM so for me, done deal.
IC
Better update my knowledge bank, I think several years ago there wasn't much difference with ram speed to justify the upgrade cost.
can my ddr3 slot fit ddr4?
nope.

For those who can't be bothered watching that youtube clip (like me):

They both have different notch locations.
They both have different notch locations.
You'd be surprised the length some people go to to fit incompatible sticks… Seen a few with 'new' notches in them.
Thanks bit the bullet for a new x99 build.
Should've bought 2 but can't do it right now :)
grabbed 2 pairs, thanks for the post!
16gb enough for gaming, or go for 32gb?
16 is plenty.
I've got the same RAM brand with 2400MHz speed, 14-16-16-31 timings 1.2V
These ones have different specs 3000MHz speed, 15-17-17-35 timings 1.35V
Is it possible to mix and run both of these at the same time with slower speeds and lower voltage eg. 2400MHz 15-17-17-35 at 1.2V?
Better to pair but if you must always use the lower of settings unless you want to run at higher but best to test to ensure stability.
FYI All it briefly jumped up in price to over 80usd delivered and is now back at the deal price.
Almost tempting to grab another couple for fun.. Can't think of any practical use yet though.
