Please read the review prior booking anything from this website:

    https://www.consumeraffairs.com/travel/cheaptickets.html

    https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/ShowTopic-g1-i10702-k4440481-…

Both website gave only 1 star to this website.

You will find that most of those reviews refer to flight bookings.

Hotel bookings are fairly ubiquitous these days. Expedia owns most of the large booking sites and they all run of the same engine, including CheapTickets. You will find identical pricing across all their sites Expedia, Hotels.com, Orbitz, Cheaptickets, Venere, etc. What's different are some only take USD, they run different promo codes and they have different reward programs.

Thanks for the warning though. I agree you should always do your due diligence but just be aware that all the hotel bookings through this site run through Expedia's network (largest travel company in the world).

Cheaptickets is owned by Expedia. Same booking system, same web interface…..etc.etc…

        No risk.

As noted by the OP, prices are in USD, and being a U.S. site, quoted prices do not include tax/fees until you reach checkout.

  • Anyone who have booking through this website to comment about this?

I am worrying about if there is anything happens I have no where to get my money back as well as I have to fork out much high rate for hotel.

I booked two hotels through them last month. No issues with the booking or checking in at the hotel. As mentioned above, it's just another Expedia brand. I agree with the other comments too - you'll get a foreign transaction fee if you don't use 28 Degrees/Bankwest Zero Platinum/Citibank Plus and bear in mind that the prices are in $US and don't include taxes until the booking page.

Have used many times without woes.
Used them a lot two-three years ago when they would give you US $5 in your account each time you booked a hotel. So would book an amount of individual nights then email the hotel to 'string together'. They've stopped this for hotel bookings and only offer this off flights now.

Works a treat, booked 2 hotels with them when I went to the USA, no problems at all, saved heaps too.

Can comment on some recent hotel bookings….. Haven't stayed at the hotels yet so hopefully that all goes well, but refunds work as promised.

Booked a few hotels with Cheaptickets (due to another 20% discount code with them), all for same period and able to be cancelled, due to not quite sure area I'd prefer to stay. Since then I decided, hence requested a couple of refunds. Refunds came through within a few business days back onto my credit card.

Keep in mind, billed in US$ so suggest using the likes of 28degrees or Citibank cards, and, any refunds may cost you (or gain you) a little bit due to currency at transaction time.

Nice, just booked a NYC hotel for June. Looks like you can stack already discounted roomrates with this code too. The hotel was 40% off regular rate and then I could add this 20% off code to really get the price down.

  • damm i booked it with the 18% discount and now theres a 20% :(

anyway just confirming but if you use an aus CC, would you get an international charge?
I used my 28 degrees card when i booked the hotel with 18% discount for my travel plan later this year

No fees with 28 degrees card.

I did book hotels through them couple of months ago, seems like they always have some kind of a code that offers 20% discount on hotels.

I have exchanged emails with the hotels since the booking which confirms that the booking has went through. So looks like a safe website for booking hotels. Prices after the 20% discounts are indeed the cheapest I could find anywhere.
