the apps working at kfc town hall sydney cbd?

      • +3

        Xpress nnot avaliable

      • +6

Closest ones to Sydney CBD are Chatswood and the airport.
        What a waste of time.

Why even bother making an app that basically no stores use.

        • I can't even see any available in Brisbane. Oh well.

        • @muncan: broken on mobile.

  • +2

Can we just order the burger BOGOF or is it just the combo BOGOF? Not biting on the combo deal but wouldn't mind BOGOF burger. Rumoured burger is large but spongey/floppy and doesn't satiate a vicious hunger.

    • -2

To those who downside my comment: it's a good question. I will use a survey and get a free chips and drink and added burger better than paying for a whole combo. But if you can't buy a burger on it's own it's not worth the bother.

      • +1

and complete a survey and pick up an extra chips and drink :p

  • +32

I had one of these last weekend. It was smaller than I expected.

    • +15

      U naughty little thing u….

    • +1

is it smaller than the Hungry jacks Whopper?

      • +23

It is definitely smaller than Jack's.

        • +12

          Because Jack's is white.

    • +3

all Zingers are/seem smaller than expected

    • You can't believe the hype from those videos. They're not "standard".

      • +4

They use models with small hands.

    • It's about the girth, not the length. It looks pretty girthy to me… when viewer from top.

  • Is this the squid ink bun they had in Japan a while ago or just black food dye?

    • -1

      Black food dye :(

      • +2

Its not only black dye… they use BBQ sauce too as the bread is sickly sweet. I didnt like it but for once off try, what ya gonna do. I prefer the normal zinger.

        • +7

I was hoping for the squid ink buns. I actually liked them.

BBQ sauce isn't even in the bun.

        • is it apicy? i thought i read the buns had some chilli flakes in em/

        • +1

@iluvpizza: Nope, not spicy at all…tastes just like a regular bun to me.

    • +2

At least it's not the green dye overload like the UK and US ones. Apparently those make your waste bright green!

      • So does this one, reminds me of the morning after a black sambuca binge.

      • uuummmmmm.. This might explain yesterday mornings' mystery. Well, it wasn't bright green, but it sure was greener.

    • Vegetable carbon. Whatever that is.

      • +3

Finally found a use for all the burnt vegetables.

    • the girl working there said its the same dye they use in licorice

    • it works on the Glen Waverley store on Ferntree Gully rd & Springy.

  • Thanks OP

  • +1

I find the mere sight of this to be utterly disgusting.

Burger buns are supposed to be brown on the outside & white on the inside.

A black burger bun is just unnatural.

    • +35

So much so, that KFC should have segregated queues for people ordering them.

    • +1

not going to lie, it does look terrible

    • +11

A black burger bun is just unnatural.

To be fair, there's not a whole lot natural in a KFC bun to begin with.

    • I'm sure you've had worse things.

    • +1

You're eating fast food, I don't think you can make the call on what's natural or not.

    • Ah, you are one of those special people.. my mrs. tastes all her food with her eyes as well… and she was bloody annoying when I ordered a fried tarantula and honey dipped fried grasshoppers in Asia last year. She hasn't kissed me since.

      • i would love to try them. i dont care about looks ill give it a go. if it tastes bad can always spit it out

  • says available from 12th April in WA

  • +1

Not working for most stores in Adelaide

  • +4

You should put 'Zinger Black Combo' in the heading - otherwise it just sounds like the burger by itself

  • +1

I like my burgers how I like my men. Black and spicy

    • +5

Your nick is how i like to grow my radishes - fast n bulbous

    • I don't understand the spicy part.

  • Comes up on my iPad, but not on my Android phone - possible an OS difference?

EDIT: Also, the deal only starts from Tue 12 April, so it might not come up until tomorrow.

  • Black just don't look right.

  • Only places in WA accepting the Xpress app are 20kms+ from the CBD. TBNT.

    • Where are they?

I looked through a couple of metro ones and none showed express

      • +2

Forrestfield, Ellenbrook, Haynes, Kwinana and Rockingham Inline apparently. If you open the app it says which stores are available.

        • Yeah forestfield is the closest to me. Will not be worth the effort!

        • +1

          Kwinana

I knew living here would pay off one day. Its worth all the stabbing attempts just for a bargain.

  • +1

    This burger tastes like coal.

When I ordered it, the stupid kid threw all the toppings on instead of placing all the ingredients neatly. I ended up with a chaotic mess and the burger was gross.

    • +1

Complain and get your money back or get a new burger

    • +5

So would you rate the burger better or worse than eating coal?

    • When I ordered it, the stupid kid threw all the toppings on instead of placing all the ingredients neatly

Do you actually open each hamburger you buy to check the neatness at which the lettuce has been positioned, and it the tomato slices are overlapping correctly?

      • +1

No, I ended up with a 'chaotic mess' with the ingredients off the actual burger.

    • You've tasted coal?! Anyway I've had one of the, the people that claim it has an overpowering taste (or the ones that say it tastes like coal) are, to put it mildly, exaggerating.

      • when i went down into a mine, so yes

  • Does this burger cook faster?

  • +3

It looks gross, right down to the brown goo dripping down the sides. Will have cookie instead, nomnomnom.

  • +1

Not a fan of charcoal burger, so I won't be wasting my money on this.

  • Xpress not avaliable in any stores nearby, where I live cranbourne, Vic. Unistalled app.

    • You would have to choose between Carrum Downs or Berwick for Xpress ordering. I tried using Xpress once at the Berwick store and it took way longer than usual as none of the kids on duty knew how to handle it.

  • I think you can ask them to change to normal bun if you don't like it because of the black bun.

    Of course, ask nicely ;)

  • I'm guessing the burger will be discontinued soon and they have a heap of buns they need to get rid of as it didn't sell as well as hoped, hence this deal

  • -5

Why are you morons being so racist on a column shouldnt we have equal rites for whites

    • +1

Actually, even regular burgers are kind of brown….

  • +1

Had this black zinger at my local KFC a few weeks ago, the bun was like rubber and it was overall crap! But then that's my local KFC

  • +1

Didn't Burger King do this in the states last year and it made your poops green?

  • What's the secret ingredient?

    https://youtu.be/tSWnmOvgyKc?t=123

  • +1

I don't know whose "bright" idea is this, but a black burger which appears burnt is so unappetising.

    • +2

Coming from the original Colonel, his ideas on what colour's better might have been different to some.

    • Its so the customer can't tell they burnt the bun.

  • +4

So much hate for the black bun! I thought it tasted the same as a regular zinger haha.

    • Agreed! Felt/tasted exactly the same as a normal Zinger to me. Plain bun taste, not chewy/stale/rubbery/anything different (the two I've had, anyway). Plus the maple mustard sauce is soooo damn good.

    • you would have thought in this day and age we wouldn't have that much hate..

    • +1

Well the problem is evolution. Some of us have evolved to partially judge taste based on colour, texture and brightness. For example a lot of poisonous plants and animals are bright in colour, so some of us have evolved to avoid brightly coloured foods. Then there are not many black coloured foods in nature, and in some cases black colour can resemble some bad/poor in nutrients foods, so some people think it is unnatural. For example I am fkn drunk right now and talking sh*t. Have a good night.

  • +2

Is this going to give me green poop?

  • +3

It is an amazingly delicious burger in my opinion.

That said, the quality of food varies significantly between KFC stores so if you're not a seasoned KFCer you might be hating for the wrong reasons.

  • +1

Now, is it just me or for some reason does KFC seem to short change me when I buy an original fillet burger compared to a zinger? When I glance sideways at my wifes zinger and compare fillets hers is ALWAYS heaps bigger. Why punish me KFC? Ive been on the original KFC train since way before "jonny come lately" hot n spicy… What did i ever do to you KFC? Bring back burger equality I say!!! equal fillets for all!!!!!!!!

  • +4

Am I the only one who likes this burger?

    • +3

      I thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • -2

This burger gives me chills. Reminds me of the bitterness and sourness of an utterly burnt slice of bread. Yuck I can feel it in my mouth just by looking at the picture.
