note there's only silver and this is the previous generation

  • i am trying to buy one but it is saying some tag error could someone tell me whtz' this?

Worth noting, the 5th gen came with a few handy new features like an FM radio, a built in still+video camera, a microphone and the ability to use it as a recorder, a built in speaker (not loud, but handy), a slightly larger and higher quality screen, better video playback battery life, support of more video & audio codecs, and a built in pedometer.

You can get them at Officeworks for $177.

This seems like at least $38 worth of extra features to me. I personally wouldn't cheap out on it.

  • Previous generation! not worth it.

  • yep wouldnt do it, got my mum the 5th gen and the radio feature is worth more than the extra 38 dollars, you can pause the radio and fast forward it…go back and listen to a song u missed etc. they are just clearing old stock here…

How far into the future can you fast forward radio, and can you use it to get tomorrow's lotto numbers?

      • :D Gold

Mate, the guy obviously means you can pause radio, and then listen to it later and fast forward during that time.

Like using DVRs where you can pause, record and then fast forward past advertisements.

        • i think they know

        • thanks for stating the obvious

      What's radio?

      • Well back in 19dickety2… we had to say dickety because they Kaiser had stolen our word twenty…

hahaha your a funny man. i was thinking of this line in my head the other day and cracked up.

old stock doesn't necessarily mean bad deal, still a good deal in terms of price when all you want is to listen to your music. FM radio doesn't appeal to me, i only listen to in the car, but most of the time im streaming music from my ipod anyways. same thing with the camera, i hear its hardly quality stuff and if you have a quality camera phone then its redundant, same thing with mic, i probably would never use that.

other features like bigger, higher quality screen, better video playback, battery life, more video and audio codecs and pedometer are nifty little things. but the 4th gen is still a solid ipod and it does what its suppose to do and thats playing music.

    • for an extra 35 buks or so the extra battery life is well worth it

      • actually both 4th and 5th gen battery life lasts up to 24 hours of music playback, the only difference is 5th gen able to play an extra hour of videos. if you wanna pay an extra 35 for one more hour of video playback then fine, but thats not much difference.

once again the ipod is about the music, everything else is excess baggage.

        • That's clearly just a personal opinion.

For me, personally, the FM radio and pedometer are exceptional additions.

  • WOW I would not get the 4th gen, this fast forwarding of radio is worth billions.
