FYI anyone interested in going to London, Etihad have select flights in May/June (and maybe more) Hong Kong to London (via Dubai) for 1420 HKD which is a little over $240 AU. Could get to London from Gold Coast for $460 in peak season which is insane. I'm kicking myself coz I just booked 2 weeks ago for $1089.

    • where did you see this advertised price? and is this one way fare?

      • Just checked out the deal - it's a one way price. Available at least for the 15th & 24th May, 6th and 7th June between HK and London.

Can't find returns just yet….lowest I can see for a return is 2516 HKD ($428 AUD).

I checked on Etihad site, only a few days got that price and only one way, so no cheap way to fly back if you buy that ticket.

      Post as a deal! :)

    • Did you check for open jaw options starting from Hk? Particularly in to London, out of Paris, Rome back to Oz.

      • I'm heading over on a 2 year visa so was only looking for one way. Couldn't find a deal in a month of searching so splurged on Singapore Airlines and in the 2 weeks since it keeps getting cheaper and cheaper :(

        • Can you book a one way trip on a visa?

        • @tunzafun001: Not on all visas, some countries have proof of departure as a condition but usually that's for tourist visas. I don't think many airlines let you book 2 years in advance so it would be a bit absurd for a 2 year visa to require return flights.

    179 one way

  • Be careful with Scoot. If they don't supply what you've paid for (in my case they removed the Super Seats without telling me and decided to keep the extra I paid) it can be a hell of a time getting a refund. I had to end up making a complaint to the Singapore Tourism Board before they'd bother to offer me a refund which was a fairly clear cut complaint.

    • At least you got refunded.

In this case just pay for the most econ seat and you have nothing to lose, except they wont refund if your flight cancel.
