Thunder Weekender Dual Battery system ALTERNATIVE now with class leading 300w pure sine wave inverter and Thunder 6amp 7 stage battery charger

Thunder Weekender 12v Portable Battery Box with 300W Pure Sine Wave inverter is a great alternative to wiring your car with a dual battery system - Portable 240V and 12V Power - anytime, anywhere…. camping power to your lighting, portable fridge, smart phone and laptop all at once. The Thunder battery box is a 12V battery charger, portable power station, battery management system and a dual-battery system all rolled into one.

Suitable batteries are LEAD ACID, GEL, AGM and CALCIUM and will accommodate batteries rated 60 – 160 Amp hour (Internal dimensions: 390 x 230 x 260mm that is some impressive space and will fit a hefty Deep Cycle Battery installed.)

12 Volt accessories can be connected to either the 2 x Accessory sockets or 2 x Merit Accessory sockets. Each of these ports are protected by a 15 Amp automatic reset circuit breaker. A 5 Volt, 2.0 Amp USB port has the ability to charge smart phones and tablets. The built in 300 Watt, 240 Volt inverter is pure sine wave so no output failure when connecting sophisticated electronic appliances such as LED TV's, laptops or power tools.

The Thunder Weekender is also equipped with a low voltage alarm alerting you when it’s time to recharge. An on/off master switch protects and isolates the unit’s outputs when it’s time for lights out, preventing battery power loss when the unit not in use.

The Thunder Weekender is equipped with a full colour LED display so you can view:

Pointless comment humour out of the toilet

That comment could have a racial slur

  • what's the saving or deal here?

  • THe savings sir… a turn key battery box with every desirable connection required for a great camping holiday….at a desirable price ….you do the math

    • Whats the normal price…cant do math with just one figure?

        • Hmmm so next best is $475 or best offer with free delivery.

Assuming final price of $460, I reckon the ebay seller would pocket about $390 clear

I therefor think you can do a better price than $420

        • Pointless comment…look at he final delivery price FULL STOP

          @mytca: geez…youre a surly rep!

People are here on this site for the best possbile prices.

You gave me an example of an ebay seller - its very easy to work out his margins

He is willing to accept circa $390 in his pocket per unit sale after costs

You want considerably more than that woth $420

I dont think you will make many sales here tonight, sorry to say.

Crunch the numbers and try again - also work on how you address potential customers

        • @pointless comment: Yeah, my guess was that it cost under $80 landed in Australia. Plastic box + $50 for the electronics + handling.

    • How about you do the math and present it here clearly rather than having the entire forum needing to go and research independently

      or is this just advertising?

  • Seems high for a cheap investor and a plastic box?

  • Happy to answer legitimate questions regarding the product and potential usage. The price is very competitive vs Arkpak comparison product..given it's got a better pure sine wave inverter and more accessory plugs it is better suited to some.

  • Just for comparison, I had a full dual battery system installed in my vehicle for 800 with 2x12v, 2x merrit, 2x Anderson plugs by the auto electrician.

  • Hey Rep do you sell a 12v charger to charge the box from a cigarette socket, or can it only be charged from the 240v charger?

    • +1

You probably won't get enough charge out of the in-vehicle cigarette socket. The wires are thin and will get voltage drop issues. If you want to charge this pack while in the vehicle, you are better off running twin core 6B&S from the starter battery via and isolator and appropriate fuses.

  • The biggest red flag to me is the your promo photos show fatigue marks in the plastic around the handle! This screams poor quality.
Also, is it a safe assumption that the you are ebay seller: creative-campers (both in canberra & both using same promo shots with fituge marks that no-one else seems to be using)?

Gotta add about $400 for a decent AGM battery. And if you want to run a 60L fridge for any longer than a few days, will need a solar trickle charger too.
These boxes are good for regular camping but way overpriced IMO.

If you want to save, stick with a standard battery box with a 12volt socket and always buy 12v gear, no need for an inverter really.

    • Yes, it's the inverter that makes these boxes overpriced.

      • I have been looking at the ark pak 2 currently on sale at BCF http://m.bcf.com.au/Product/Ark-Powerpack-2-Battery-Box/3783…
        Any good?

Hoping a dicount code comes up in the next couple of weeks.

I have the first arkpak which from the looks of it is missing the USB ports and only came with a 0.7A charger. Wouldn't do it again. I ended up fitting my own anderson plug to it as I wanted to charge off the vehicle's alternator, added an ebay volt meter and bypassed all the internal electronic gadgetry. Didn't even use the cig socket.

I would probably get a normal $20 battery box and add my own connectors to it. I used anderson powerpoles for the low current stuff. Beats having large cigarette or merit plugs.

for the charging side, I bought a Projecta 7A 7 stage smart charger. It would be much better than the 1.5A charger of the Arkpak 2.

        • @amts: thanks… was just the info I was after
