      There should be no 'new' Zune 30s - they're all refurbs.

      I've owned a refurb (two actually) since 2008 and been very happy with it. Use it daily on the way to work. Nice screen size, excellent software, very easy to use. Still runs circles around the iPod Classic. Sadly, lack of 3rd party support is a bit of a bummer.

    You need to run a registry hack to make the Zune software work for non-US countries.

      I use a Zune 30 without any registry hacks of any kind. Maybe to purchase from the Zune marketplace you do, but not to use the software or sync with the player.

        If you can't sign in, you get very limited use of the software.
        I wanted an alternative to iTunes for podcast management.
        I had trouble just accessing their podcast selections when I last tried to use Zune 4.0.

          I've never used podcasts but thanks for the tip - the picks are really nice. Can't wait to get my Windows 7 Phone with all the features of a Zune HD, too :)

    From what I've found out, original Zune's are not worth a cent.

    The Zune HD on the other hand have had gleaming reviews and I'd like to have a look at one of them. It's a pity you still have to use some shitty Zune proprietry software though, I can't stand that. That's why I've always used RockBox.

      The original zune is not worth a cent, incorrect.

      The original zune screen is regarded as very nice, sound quality is regarded as class leading. put simply if you need a cheap player that works well then this is a great offer. if you need an awesome player look for a zune HD

    nothing wrong with the original zune, its an mp3 player, plays mp3s, does it well. Have one sitting here, a little big for me but other than that its a good player.
