AliExpress is having a 6th Anniversary Sale and a huge number of merchants are participating - log in, add items to your cart, and observe your total. Now, long into the app and compare the difference - on my computer my total came to $128, and on the app it was $87. Spend over $52 and you get a $6 coupon that automatically discounts your cart (APP ONLY).

Here are 2 great deals I picked up:

10-piece makeup brush set (generic version of the famous Artis brushes all the YouTube gurus are using) - $65 online, $26 on the app
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-Arriveral-10pcs-set-Tooth…

Costume jewellery from the merchant 'Zhouyang' - I own some of these rings and they look like real diamonds - $5 online, $1.80 on the app
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Top-Quality-18K-Real-Gold-Pla…

Aliexpress is famous for its knock-off versions of authentic products. While I would never recommend purchasing these, I hear the fake pokemon cards, Nike runners, Kat Von D eyeshadow palettes, and Tarte brushes are virtually indistinguishable from the real thing. ;)

There's something for everyone. Easiest way to navigate this sale is to find what you want using your computer (tick the Anniversary Sale box, sort by 'orders'), find it cheapest, get your cart ready, and then check out using your phone.

  • I think their sale started 2 days ago. I had a look at some stuff I wanted. On desktop you can see what the app pricing would be. I think if you hover over the item, the app pricing will show up. It seems to me the "sale" pricing is quite similar to Banggood normal pricing, so that's why I didn't post anything on here.

Also, I have had a few problems with Aliexpress orders where the goods are knockoffs. The sellers always request I change the claim to damaged goods rather than counterfeit before they would issue a refund. I guess this allows them to continue to operate without drawing too much attention from Alibaba themselves.

    • Agreed. I avoid branded products unless making the purchase in the knowledge that it's 99% likely to be a knockoff and that it won't bother me either way. I've found that the desktop "app price" is typically a ballpark estimate (I paid $23.44 for the brush set, though it's listed at $26).

There are a lot of adapters and different cables compatible with old console systems that I found much cheaper on Aliexpress than anywhere else (N64 controller extension cables are about $2 each) which I waited for the sale to purchase, I figured it was worth posting for the little things like that which all seem to have free shipping.

Just out of curiosity, how does one find these "replica" items on the site, given there are so many generic / no name branded items to wade through.

    • +1

They are all copies. at least 99.9% of them.

Search for a description of it - eg Oval brush set

For makeup most brands can be searched with the name

      • naked palette
      • the balm
      • lorac
      • von d eyeshadow

Some brands they won't allow the full name, i've rarely seen replica bags etc. Searching louis vuitton, chanel etc doesn't really work. I've seen replicas of moschino etc but it was by chance, and the name had no words that had to do with the brand in it.

Let me know if there's a specific item you're after, I can maybe help you find it.

      • Just tried looking for replica bags too. Ones that did yield some results are so obviously fake eg. Mosohino. Less embarrassing to wear a kmart $10 bag than a fake designer- thats not exactly cheap too!

Is Aliexpress the only place with these bags?

        • Ioffer is -the- place to shop for fake designer stuff. I would suggest researching recommended sellers though, I have heard that it is less trustworthy than aliexpress. My friend has bought a few things from there though and he recieved everything/was happy with his purchase.

Just what Lunawinter said. This website may help you find specific brands:

they use some names like red sole for louboutin shoes, calvin Klein maybe ck, michael Kors MK

Exactly. Get creative and try to guess the code names. Also look at the bottom of pages for similar products.

Hello all be careful with Aliexpress. They do not accept PayPal and they send very poor quality products. I had a bad experience bought a tablet and it was dead in 20 days (15days to dispute.) They asked to send the product back with my money. They keep on telling once they receive, they will inform which they never did. So I have to chat with customer service and escalated the issue. The they told it was repaired and asking to pay for the return freight which I declined as one of their members told me they will pay the freight from their end. Even after many reminders from the customer service no one responded. The aliexpress is very difficult to deal and no way we can talk to them on phone. Only chat and you cannot record them. so I suggest all of you be cautious with them as it may cost more than what you think if the product fails. You may not get back your money. aliexpress has no control over their sellers.

Sound advice, though I disagree with they "send very poor quality products" - this has not been my experience. Always purchase products from sellers that have sold a lot of product, and that have high star ratings and actual reviews in English. You have to buy smart. I've purchased a lot of things from Aliexpress and most of it has been exactly as described. The few disputes I've launched have all been resolved without a problem, and I was refunded when the product was broken or didn't show up.

Same here, I've probably purchased 50+ products, i've had only 1 or 2 that didn't completely meet my expectations.

        • Word. KVD Monarch was mindblowing for $12.

        • @damnscenekids:

I bought a fake naked 3 palette that is more pigmented than all my high end makeup. Unfortunately I don't use counterfeit makeup anymore :( I just don't trust the ingredients. makes me sad as it's so pretty >_<

I bought a tablet for my dad on Aliexpress, and it was the worst decision I ever made. There was no way to update the firmware and no in-built function to upgrade the Android version either. In the end it didn't matter because the micro-USB connection became dislodged, and it was going to cost more to fix than the tablet itself.

There's a lot of misunderstanding about AliExpress, I think. It's just another marketplace like eBay, with lots of sellers. It would be weird to say 'eBay is bad, they sent me a poor quality product.' Same for AliExpress. You have to look at the individual sellers and do your own research to figure out the goods ones for the product area you're looking at. And know what you're buying. Yes, they're Chinese so communication can sometimes be an issue, but mostly I see pretty good English skills from the sellers.

I mostly get hardware bits and pieces from AliExpress for projects. So many parts that you can't find anywhere else, or cheaply. Very occasionally there are issues with items not as described, etc. but the dispute process works well.

I found Aliexpress to be better than Ebay.

Their systems are more fair and I think in your case it was really an isolated incident.

You may be lucky but I have no way to talk to them and the seller is not at all responding even with the customer service messages. You have only 15 days to dispute. If 15days passed, there is no way you raise a dispute. Yes if it did not show up or failed within 15 days you are lucky. If it fails even on 16th day, it is impossible to get back your money. The aliexpress releases money to the seller after 15 days and once the seller has the money they don't care for you. aliexpress has no control but at the seller's mercy. I am not telling all the products are bad but if the product fails after 16th day is the issue. You cannot be sure that it fails only in 15 days as in my case. The process is very bad. If you can pay with paypal, you have the chance to claim form paypal. I do not want to precipitate this issue all I am telling is it is impossible to deal with them if there is any issue after 16th day. There is no guarantee after 15 days that we can dispute and get back the money if something goes wrong.

I've never had a purchase protection period last fewer than 30 days on any product I've bought, and it's usually 60. That's bizarre that you only had 15. :\

      • +1

Mine are always 60 days. Items usually take 2 to 3 weeks, occasionally less.

Anyone know when the sale finishes (Australia time)?

I'm looking at the teclast x2 pro

    • +1

The sale started 5pm Tuesday and the app says 3 more days so I'm assuming Sunday at 5pm.

      • Thanks for that.

I bought the Teclast X2 Pro with keyboard last night from Aliexpress. Anyone know if all stylus work with these or do I need a specific type? Recomendations?

Its not for graphic art, I'll be using it for filling out forms and client signatures, with the occasional doodle sketch thrown in for fun.

The "original" price is very overpriced for the 10pc brush set compared to ebay , the sale price of $26 is average too. Seeing they don't offer paypal, seems safer and easier to just buy from eBay.

I'm pretty sure you can buy the single brushes by itself for about $1-2 each on eBay.
