It's a cheap but massive upgrade from a normal HDD. Even if it's very mediocre for an SSD
Anyone with experience running these drives over USB 3? Considering buying one to run VMs off of to spare the space on internal drives.
Biggest thing I have found is the enclosure you use. Some are rubbish with speed, heat up far too much, others give excellent results.
I have VM's on a mSATA with a MyDigitalSSD enclosure ($16USD on Amazon) and it's 500MB/s+ both ways and never gets hot or slow. Previous ones I tried would get slower and slower as it got hotter and hotter and crash. So couldn't even migrate the VMs across on to the drive.
