Bought this tv two weeks ago from JB Thomastown, VIC for $2459. Managed to go back and get the difference reimbursed :)
Great TV btw. Well worth it.
The KD55X8500C is also there for $1528.30 for anyone that missed out on the slightly cheaper eBay offerings last week.

Had a chat to two JBs last week about this model and both indicated they were down to their last 2-3 models, so this seems like the final push before the new models arrive.
