Have used Venere for 3 recent bookings. Easy app to use, good discounts (major chains usually excluded).
WARNING: Use setting (up top left) to change currency from the default USD.

I nearly checked out and would have made a costly mistake!
Fair warning, wish I had of noticed this. I was on the desktop and had changed it to AUD but not on the mobile app. Ended up thinking it was AUD (this is what happens when you book at midnight) and used my Commbank card for 2 hotel bookings. $40 total currency conversion charge :( devo!

Used venere extensively for prior 3 weeks in Indonesia and now Malaysia. Often the cheapest BUT YOU do the comparisons.
Anyone know whether they charge with the nominated currency - AUD, or local currency? Would like to use my regular credit card but don't want to be charge the exchange rate fee.
I just called their call centre and was told what is shown on the app in the currency you have selected is charged to your card in that currency.
For example, set to AUD, pay with AUD card, charged in AUD …OR… set to AUD, pay with overseas card, charged in AUD and charged with conversion fee. Make sense?
