Acer Netbook 10.1” LED screen. Wireless connections. Integrated webcam. Multi-in-1 card reader. Weight 1.1kg. Microsoft Windows XP. 160GB hard drive disc 1GB RAM. Intel Atom processor 1.6GHz. Same as what Coles was selling for $389 earlier this year - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/21689 Pay $237, then claim $39 back from Acer? From what I have read from the Coles offer, it has a 3 cell battery that lasts about 3.5 hours.

For first hour of Saturday only.

Also a Samsung 42 inch HD Plasma for $648, but not limited to the first hour.

            No. We extend the cashback so that it applies to the people who have rainchecks.
            The cashbacks are fulfilled as they are received not at the end of the period.
            So if you are lucky enough to already have yours the extension does not effect you.

                When you pick the Netbook up you will receive a receipt with a bookout date for that day. That is your date of purchase not your date you paid the deposit.
                I can repeat what I said in my post - no customer will be disadvantaged.

    i bought Acer eM250 Netbook from hrvey norman on 3/4/2010 .i would like to know why some of buyers got the 5800mAh battery(Battery model number is UM08B52) form the harvey norman. i also bought it from harvey norman but i just get 2200mAH(Battery model number is UM08A41) battery? how can i get my 5800mAh battery to instead of the 2200mAh 3-Cell ones. thanks

      The 2200mAh 3-Cell battery is standard.
      One guy talking about 5800mAh on another site is not something I can comment on.
      If that has happened then good luck to him but the standard model is 2200mAh 3-Cell battery.

    I called HN at Domayne Auburn where my raincheck is from. I asked if I'm likely to get it after the 16th shipment. The Computer Manager asked where I got the delivery dates from. I gave your name. he said they have no information regarding Acer deliveries and he doesn't know when they might be !!! And he quickly hung up.

    There seems to be a communication failure between head office and stores.

      The franchisee is Eric Gie in that store.
      Every franchisee has the email so it would appear to be that the person who answered the phone was unaware.
      My apologies for that.
      If you have an email from me confirming raincheck and you want me to follow up store just respond to my email.
      If you did your raincheck direct with store please contact Eric direct.

      I guess its fair to say some people are reluctant to vote until the deal has worked for them. Since a lot of people are still waiting on rainchecks (myself included), I would normally not vote till after it was all sorted.

        All stores should be getting 3 drops.
        Without knowing the individual numbers I would suggest that Martin Place has a larger number of backorders so can't fulfill them all in the first drop, whereas Auburn can.

        Very pleaased with it, especially the 6 cell battery, and if you want a bit of market research feedback - I spent over $300 more in the shop on the day I ordered my raincheck and I will be sure to go back to Harvey Norman if I'm ever in the market for anything similar.

    I too am in possession of my em250, picke dup tonight. Must commend Gary for his coordination on this massive "project" and the way it was all handled. Also thumbs up to local HN for returning calls straight, updating status etc, could not have asked for anymore. When I missed out(next in line), I was resigned to missing out as assumed at this price it would be first in best dressed. Never expected a raincheck, but happy to get it. Looks like HN will get my next purchases now, lounge suite and TV.

        Your raincheck is guaranteed by my email - simple.
        As you can see here a lot of customers have already picked up and we have more than covered all raincheck with our order.

    Yeah I received my netbook yesterday at Auburn Superstore.
    They said they received the shipment on the ?Saturday and were going to start calling people after the long weekend.
    I was just keen so I called in to make sure

    Tried to sell me an addon pack though I only wanted the warranty-I have had issues with products just outside the warranty esp with acer and its repairer.

    I also got a 5800 battery though the box said 3 cell

        It was 2 yrs extended. (all up 3)
        He said it would be 49.95 alone. He bundled in some surge protector which states it is $149 normally.
        Those two together cost 79.

        I intend to use the protector on my TV. Does any one know if this actually works-ie. netbook surge protector used for a LCD TV?

        Excited yes, tho more tired than anything now. Did not have time to try out the netbook until wee hours of night. :) Got the longer life battery too… so bonus! :) No bluetooth, no wwan but that's all cool too. Never required bluetooth up to this point. Will try out my usb wireless bb. Am a little concerned this won't work on the netbook because of the xp Sp3 (this was prob on previoius laptop) but will see. May be able to tweak this netbook in a few ways. Apart from straining to hear sound without earphones and perhaps needing to steal a younger persons eyesight…:)what a beautiful little machine for $200. Portable again at last! :) :) Have mailed off all requirements for cashback. USB tv tuner works better in this netbook than in previous laptop. The hard drive says something like 140 for total capacity and I will remove the preinstalled trial programs taking up some of that 140 gig. As netbooks are new to me, I am not sure what the go is with the operating system if wanting to format, partition or replacing the hard drive…so there are things to learn and time needed to spend on getting it all just right. All in all, I love it. It looks good, feels nice, so light, oh and has useful touchpad features to enlarge reduce what you are looking at. Also plugs into larger external monitor easy enough if / when required. Wow! Thank you again Maltopia, Gary and HN for following through on building positive customer sales relations. Had resigned to missing out on that Sat but nope, I'm in business again :)

    Looks like 'you 'da man' re this HN Acer eMachines netbook offer. I couldnt make it on the day (other commitments) so put it down to not being at the right place at the right time. Is there any way of getting one now at that sale price even though I couldn't actually get to a store on the day?
