Good luck with getting stock anywhere.. edit some stock left on the Coloured ones (no white) but really scattered.

    • LIke my previous post, there's still quite some stock left.

      • +3

The Dick Smith 15m Cat 6 Crossover Cable was cheap in your deal @ $1.20, its now 60c!!!

        • +1

note: most routers will let you use crossover in place of regular cables.

      • Yeah, but $11.49 too expensive ;)

    • Hobart had stock yesterday on the shelves when I went to pick up my C&C from the last deal but I was told "price is the same as online"…yeh nah it was $53 for the 8-pack :/

  • Greensborough VIC shows stock for the AA Tropical at least

    • no stock left :(

  • -1

    Any stock in Brisbane area?

    • Strathpine showed up stock of chocolate AAA and tropical AA when I just ordered

      • Thanks man, got one each.

  • Is there easy way to search for stores

    • +1

Well you can press the Check Store Stock button its about the best way really.

  • No delivery cost?

Edit: nvm. Shipping shows only after you try to check out.

  • +2

No stock in Sydney, Click and Collect is useless as they require the local store having stock rather than shipping from a store with stock.

    • +1

keep in mind they state that if you pay click and collect and the store doesnt have any in stock you become an unsecured creditor lol

      • It doesn't let you proceed if no store has stock.

        • ugh

if it lets you do it and you go to the store and they find they dont have stock, then you become an unsecured creditor

it tells you specifically this on their website

        • @Makoto:
Just contact PayPal or Visa, and they will give you your money back.

          There is no financial risk.

You will not be an unsecured creditor.

    • Warringah mall seems to have stock

  • +1

None in Armadale, Succes, Myaree, or Ranford in WA.

  • Should i do C&C ?

  • Thanks. Paid for postage since I bought a few.

    • Error.

    • +3

      Lol. You're brave

      • +2

Why? The company is under administration. So the risk of being ripped off is next to none

  • Bought some, hopefully get pick up confirmation.

    • just got pick up confirmation @ merrylands

      Won't be dropping in till 6:30 though…

  • AAA all seem sold out to me from Melbourne CBD/Outer CBD/Western Suburbs.

  • Cheers.

Just ordered with C&C from Macarthur Square

    1 x ENELOOP AA Chocolat 8pk
    1 x ENELOOP AA Tropical 8 Pack
    1 x ENELOOP AAA Chocolat 8pk

    • +1

You better hope they actually have stock.

      • They did on the weekend

Pretty sure they dont really care though. They just want you topping up their bank account

      • It mentioned on the website they did.

My dad will be collecting and he will give them a mouth full if they dont have them

        • When I was there on the weekend they had stock. Doesn't mean they have it now though and the staff are in no rush to pick the C&C order

        • @too_much_boost:

          Ill wait and see.
          Cheers for the heads up

        • @too_much_boost: Plenty of Panasonic Eneloops (two shelves full) but there are no more Sanyo Eneloops (I bought the last packs) as of yesterday at Macarthur Square NSW store. Yesterday, the Sanyo (Japan) 8-pack ($16) was cheaper than the Panasonic (China) 8-pack ($22).

        • +2

My dad will be collecting and he will give them a mouth full if they dont have them

That's some expensive abuse you bought. Don't expect the poor staff you take it out on to care or try to help. They're worried about how they'll be paying their bills in a month's time.

    • +2

Just received confirmation that they are ready for collection

  • Not a bad price. Given DS will no longer exist soon I suffered through the postage as some have availability online. 1 x 8 pack choc AAA and 1 x 8 pack of Tropical AA delivered for $43.

Makes me wonder if the # of posts will noticeably drop off on OZB once DS close the doors due to the lack of enloop deals!

    • I paid for delivery. To me it is still worth it.

  • +1

I hope all you people doing C&C are using paypal or CC else you will have lost your money

  • +1

so I presume the safest option is to just go into the store to pay for the item, rather than order it online with C&C or post?

    • At least with Paypal or CC, you can get the transaction reversed when DSE wont have stock. Pretty sure they will sell 100 packs of Eneloops per actual pack in stock. DSE wont help you out at all in this situation and will just keep your money

      • You effectively go into their list if credits once they dissolve. Unfortunately you won't rank high on that list compared to say the Shenzhen company who sent a shipload of tvs across.

        • Yep that is pretty much right. This means you have no chance of getting anything

        • Do you have a link to that? I'd be keen to read more about that one.
Feel bad for the company though.

        • +1

My interpretation of this situation is that DSE's administrators are LEGALLY stealing all this stock from that Chinese company. The Chinese company requested TOLL to return the stock before it got to DSE but they shipped it on anyway which means TOLL are liable here.

If the administrators had any morals they would allow the supplier to take their stock back as they know they will never pay for it, but i bet they wont

        • Yea I found this unbelievable.
If your a supplier and a company goes bust you can't pull back your stock they determine in this case.
Can see by the gift card practise these receivers are have no conscience

  • +2

I'm waiting to get a good deal on the TVs that DSE is selling but never paid for.

    • Yeah it sounds like they effectively got $18M worth of generic TV's for nothing by scamming the supplier. I wonder what they will do with them

      • $1.8M, not $18M. But still a bit, yes.

        • I stand corrected. Either way its a lot of stuff from a supplier they most likely will never pay back

        • Its done by dicksmith accountants, so $1.8m is the RRP value, actual stock value would be $18K?, lets make it 80K :) ?
This is how they manage to float DES in ASX at high price.

        • @boomramada:
I thought the wholesale value was $1.8 million. The amount DSE owes the supplier.
Retail value must be double that or more.
a few TVs anyway. Not sure if it's just the 'DSE' branded TVs.
DSE had a deal with JVC to sell generic Chinese TVs with the JVC label.

      • The Court said it's the shipping company Toll is liable for manufacture, and Toll becomes another unsecured creditor to DSE. Very nice gift for DSE.

        • -1

I wonder how much shoplifting is going on at DSE stores.

Note: I am not saying I condone it. But people will feel like DSE is ripping everyone off and not being made accountable.

For those in WA, all that's left is the AA 2-pack at the Cannington & Midland Gate store and the AA Tropical s 8-pack at Carousel, Belmont, Innaloo, Joondalup & Booragoon stores

    • I was at the Belmont store on the weekend and did not see any eneloop at all.

      • I just returned from there about 15 minutes ago and picked up 10 packs of the AA Tropicals (no I'm not Broden - 5 packs are for me and the rest I'm giving to family. The real Broden would have snapped them all up). They still had 3 more packs of the AA tropicals on shelf and several of the white/blue AA eneloops in the 8 pack and 4 pack on shelf.

The guy who served me said the stock on the floor is all they have left.

  • +1

Heaps of chocolate AA & AAA at Macarthur Square.
I just turned around and there's a whole heap of tropical left as well.

    • +1

Can you please tell the staff there to pick the C&C orders? kthxbi

      • Im waiting for a C&C ready email aswell

        • I ordered some eneloops last wed. Didn't get an email so went in Sun to find out what was going on and they hadn't even bothered picking them yet. Don't hold you breath that staff will do their job as they DGAF

        • @too_much_boost:
Happens all the time, especially Macarthur Square store.

        • @Noobist45:
Well I just got my notification that my 3 packs of Eneloops are ready for collection from Mac Square. Miracles sometimes do happen!

        • @too_much_boost:

          I received my confirmation too.

Probably the last cheap eneloops i will ever get

  • Looks like new opportunity for another dealer to fill the eneloop void.

I got some Duracell off eBay that are made in Japan.

  • 5 AA packs left at Moonee ponds

  • What's the deal with these things? I see them popping up quite often and people going crazy for them. They're just rechargeable batteries right?

    • +1

You're not trolling, are you? ;-)

Eneloops are low self-discharge rechargeables. Normal recharegeable batteries will go flat over time - anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. Eneloops don't do that. They hold onto their charge much longer.

There are other low self-discharge (LSD) batteries available on the market too, such as Varta. These LSD batteries are great for items that don't use batteries too quickly, such as remote controls. They also work well in high power drain devices, such as digital cameras.

      • Hmm Ok. Nah wasn't trolling. I don't use batteries that much and have never heard of these before joining OzB.

        • Don't worry, I just bought my first eneloop pack on the weekend and I've been on here for over 3 years

      • Are there any real difference between the normal white ones vs the chocolat or tropical ones?

I notice tropical ones has a minimum capacity of 1900mAh but retains up to 70% after 5 years vs minimum capacity of 2000mAh and 65% after 5 years for chocolate

        • +2

There's probably enough variation in the manufacturing process that it will come down to the individual battery. For all intents and purposes, the white ones or the coloured ones will mostly perform the same in real life.

Don't pay too much attention to the % capacity after x years, because it's very unlikely that you will be waiting 5 years and then depending on the 5% difference.

You also need to read the stats carefully. For example the Chocolat pack says that the capacity is up to 2000mAh, with a minimum capacity of 1900mAh. Those figures are ballpark. Once you put the batteries through an analyser you will discover their true discharge capacity. I analysed an 8xAA Chocolat pack with 10-2014 date stamp and the capacities ranged from around 1840 to 2010 with the median being somewhere around the low 1900s. Technically, some of the batteries in the pack failed to meet the minimum spec, but what are you going to do?

The number of recharge cycles is a more useful metric, but this will depend on using a decent charger / analyser for your batteries. If you use a typical "smart" charger (or the Eneloop charger), it's likely that the useful battery life will be a lot less than the advertised 2100 charge cycles.

  • pro eneloops are also on special

    • Only C&C, none left in NSW?

  • $9.95 shipping on Tropical Eneloops? no thanks

  • What's Nimh? Can it be used as regular AA batteries?

    • Not In My Home. We prefer irregular LSD.

  • Be carefull buying from dicksmith. They meant to officially close soon. So, not sure what will happen if their C&C takes longer. Hopefully they refund.

I bought last week. Only confirmatation of order and no communication. Luckily I saw refund in Paypal. But no email communication. Just saying be careful

How does this post get 50+ votes? There is zero stock in 250km radius of me.. reminds me of those udemy posts.. people just get on the upvote bandwagon.

How does this post get 50+ votes? There is zero stock in 250km radius of me.

Because not everyone lives at your house.

      • +1

There was heaps of stock at most stores when this deal was first posted over 6 hours ago….you gotta be quick when it comes to Eneloops going cheap

      • +1

There is some stock 10 minutes from my house so I upvoted it. No bandwagon for me!

  • People still voting even though no stock available. it will be reasonable for the OP to mark 'expired' or 'out of stock'

    • +1

OP marked as [Limited Stock], which is correct. There is still stock in some stores, for example Neutral Bay still had some stock at around 13:30.

  • People loved this things on ozb. Whats the attraction?

    • +1

they need lots of batteries to power their vibrators, gotta get their jollies somehow

      • hahahaha…

Is this coming from personal experience?

    • they're shiny %_%

  • I got Eneloop family pack (4xAAA, 6xAA and charger) from the Belconnen store for $23 yesterday. There were heaps left.

    • Just picked it up for $18 in QLD, last one on show. The price advertising is still completely outdated.

    • Now $18 in store at Belconnen (and obviously elsewhere if stock available). I picked some up this afternoon, thanks.

I wouldn't pay more than $18 anyway, they are Chinese made and probably not a whole lot better than Aldi batteries but certainly no worse and slight better value at this price with a charger included! :)

  • Just tried to checkout via store pickup. Apparently the only store that has any in stock is Geelong after going through that "Find a store" popup…argh…

  • Virgin Eneloop buyer here.

Grabbed the last 3 packs of AA from Neutral Bay. Also got 2 packs of AAA so there were about 5 left (but some guy grabbed some so may be none left). There were about 3 family packs left.

  • Just returned from Neutral Bay DSE. I did C&C earlier today, but have not received confirmation email. I decided to go to the store anyway. The girl there said she picked the order a couple of hours ago.

In terms of stock, there were 7 packs of 8xAAA Chocolat packs left on the shelf. No other Eneloops left, although there were some DSE branded rechargeables still in stock.

All the batteries on the shelves had their normal price tags (around $54 for the AAA Eneloops), but there was a sign on top of the shelf that said "20% OFF batteries".

It looks like the best idea is to pop into a store, grab what you want from the shelf, then do a C&C from your phone. Wait a few minutes, then take your goodies to the checkout and tell the staff you just saved them the trouble of picking the order. ;-)

  • +2

Just received an SMS from toll, my order has been picked up for delivery so don't fear if you ordered online. It looks like we may get something. Hopefully it's not a certified delivery saying they are keeping my money ;)
