Been looking for another decent Floor Pump and was surprised to find this nice Park Tool jobbie for so little… and at Chain Reaction too! I needed to grab some new tyres plus some other stuff and easily managed to get my order over $100 so got Free Postage but if you can't get your order over $100 (go on, you know you can) then you'll need to pay $9.99 Postage which does take a little bit of the shine off this deal. Still not a bad buy even for $43.98 as these are selling for $50+ elsewhere and other decent steel barrel pumps can easily reach and sometimes exceed $100! What a lot of hot air ;)

Alternatively, if you're quick you can grab one of the remaning five units from here for only $42.95 inc. Postage.

Great deal-Park Tools obviously make great gear. I have a Lezyne Barrel pump with the "screw on" type chuck, which in my opinion, allows for a much better and secure seal when pumping up the tyre, particularly on a roadie. I think I would struggle to go back to a "thumb lock" type chuck now. Just my two cents.

    • Cheers for the info. I thought it was a decent price too, especially for a Park pump and especially from Chain Reaction as I find a lot of their stuff is way overpriced. A lot isn't too but when you're buying a nice big set of tools and can save $400+ simply by shopping elsewhere (Pushys) then it's a bit of an eye-opener.

I'm only just getting back into cycling so I'm still gathering the required bits & pieces as I need them. Running a Commuter with 700/32s but have Schrader valves which I honesty don't mind. Never had much luck with the Prestas back when I tried to get into MTBing about 10-15 years ago… they just seemed to fiddly but it appears 99% of cyclists disagree so it must just be me ;) I've never had a problem with the press-on chuck in my Giro Steel Floor Pump but I do understand what you mean, the screw-on chuck would be much more of a minimalist yet 'positive' connection.

      • Still a good deal, and thanks for posting!

    • Yeah exactly my thinking when I was reading the deal - the screw on type chuck is great and I wouldn't go back to the thumb lock variant.
