  • This seems to be a good price and even cheaper with free post!

  • Hmmm read this review and dosnt sound good but what am i to know.Noob with this kinda thing.

    http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/storage/2009/12/12/xtreamer…

  • It doesn't seem to support RM/RMVB format, which perhaps makes it not as good as astone ap300? COTD recently had astone ap300 with 1TB installed for about $187 delivered.

  • +1

    That review on bit-tech.net website isn't totally accurate since its in Dec 09 and there's been quite alot of firmware updates since then. Also, it was saying the image was stuttering with a 60Mbps blu-ray file while blu ray's maximum bitrate is only 40Mbps. So basically they were trying to play something beyond the quality of something that doesn't exist at the moment. I'm not sure why or even when you would have the need to play a 60Mbps bitrate file (let alone where you can get a 60Mbps file).

    If you also read the comments at the bottom, many customers did not have the problem of playing 30Mbps bitrate MKV files (which the reviewer had). They must've been using the old firmware. New firmware can be downloaded and updated easily from the Xtreamer website.

    • I did a bit of research when I wanted to buy one of these and they appear to be excellent.

      +1 to the firmware updates, they appear to be fantastic at fixing any issues.

  • Well if thats the case i stand corrected. Have been lookin for a good media player at a good price. Maybe a bit cheaper than this tho. If its out there!

    • Not many other Media players that can do what the Xtreamer does and more importantly provide regular firmware updates and improvements as the Xtreamer - all at the low price of $149.

  • There's a newer review available at:

    Looks pretty good!

    • Wow that is a good review! Might have to get one after all. Especially at that price. Cant find one cheaper!

    • According to that review HDMI also come with player but this deal doesn't include HDMI :(
      Also can you do special price combo deal (+ Wifi) for OzB?

      * 2 x AAA Batteries
      * HDMI Cable (Free)

      * AV Cable
      * USB Cable

      I was also informed that currently the Xtreamer Media Player comes bundled with an HDMI cable for free.

      • Hey ill 2nd that! Maybe throw it in for free seeing as its Easter ; ) I'll buy it for sure then!

  • We can't throw it in for free since its already heavily discounted, but you can add a 1.8m HDMI cable for an extra $15 (which is a discounted price and only available if purchased together with the Xtreamer). You can add this at the bottom of the page where it says "optional HDMI cable"
