- I had no idea there was a direct lego shop
- What are Lego VIP points?
- Yes there is.
- Lego reward point. Roughly equivalent to 5% off. Double points now so about 10%.
Points can be used only for next purchase though.
You can save them for up to 2 years I think.
Hmm not sure how long. I read somewhere that it'll expire in Dec that year?
@geekhusband: points expire following Dec in two years time. Ie point today expire Dec 2018
They give you points based on how much you spend, then on your next visit you can use em.
Helps take the edge off our steep prices for exclusives.
It's not advertised on the site yet, but double points are live.Shipping kills it
Shipping free over $200 spent. Just bite the bullet and buy an UCS model.
Yep we get murdered on shipping as usual. That's why if your after a few small sets or a big UCS ,double points makes it more worthwhile. Smaller , average sets Target will always be a better option if they have them.
Double points have been live since midnight.
The beauty is there are some sets you can buy (like the 'hard to find' Ferrari F40) for $130 - that people have bought recently on eBay for up to $190.
You can only buy one set though.
If you ring they will sell you 2 .

VIP FAQWith double points, it essentially works out to ten percent of value for your next buy.
How do you get away with the foreign transaction fees? Pretty painful just to get 28deg/bankwest/Coles mc for something that's already charge in AUD.
I used my CBA credit card and I don't recall being charge with foreign transaction fee, whatever the total amount that shows in your cart, that the amount that get charged in your CC. I use the Australian lego site.
Hmmm..I used Westpac CC last time and there was a charge. A friend of mine used a NAB card and got a=hot about 3% charge as well.
Yeah, I checked my ANZ CC and there was a charge as well. I'm getting another set so I'll try CBA CC again.
Is getting double points really a bargain though?
shrug
loads up shopping cart anywayMaybe not , but name another item posted on here that increases with value over time like many Lego sets do.
that's all well and good, but that's not what my issue was
I reckon it's quite a bargain if you're after the rare sets/UCS/modular.
If not, plenty of local retailers will do 20% quite regularly.
I been out of this game for years so not sure what happens now. I missed a couple of the UCS from local stores at the end of last year (Tie and Boba Slave 1). Are they likely to get local stock in again (Target, Myer) or should I get them from here?
Ebay or Lego shop. I haven't seen either locally for a while. Another place to look for big models is Toys R Us.
BTW, the slave 1 model looks fantastic IRL.
Get on the UCS Sandcrawler and Ewok Villiage first. They are due to retire soon.
How do you know this?
Don't know for sure. Educated guess. Ewok probably last till end of year, but there's a new UCS coming out May 4th and I reckon something will go.
All speculation tho. :)
where does it say double VIP points?
Thanks…time to buy
anyone know where I can find the creator opera house cheaper than S@H?
Try bricklink.
Edit: cancel that . Bricklink is more expensive, even second hand.Myer are doing 20% til at least Monday. I have seen it at Sydney city but you can always get them to order it on their iPad if there is still decent stock at another store.
crap, i missed your comment and did not managed to call them up…thanks anyway!
