      • Well I've never bought a nintendo handheld before. This was purely for the nostalgia factor as I was obsessed with pokemon as a kid. I prefer the form factor to any of the other handhelds i've seen. The red is quite nice - a bit darker than i exepcted and comes with a 4gb toshiba SD card which the game is loaded on. I'm really tempted to fire it up but i kinda want to keep it original. If I end up getting the 2 yellows I've ordered, I'd rather play the pikachu version. If i don't get either then I think i'll play the red.

Anyone actually played theirs? What would be the best way to store this if not using it? Should I charge it up once in a while?

        • If you are collector just leave it in the box. Nintendo hardware is incredibly well made and preserves very well.

        • I remember reading that if you plan to store your handheld consoles away, you should charge them every six months, this was according to Nintendo.

For my handhelds, I drain the battery every year and charge every six months.

  • Have you guys noticed that the yellow is still available on UK amazon? Have they got a restock? it's preorder.

If anyone wants one they seem to have stock.

    • Yeah noticed that they have them at pretty much what the Aussie version costs here rrp. I've seen other sites like ozgameshop with more stock of all colours but they are charging $199 au.

Either Europe got a restock or they took longer to get their full orders.

Maybe Australia will get more soon too I dunno.

      • They've been on Amazon.co.uk all along - although their initial allocation of yellow sold out. Soon after, they went on back-order with an estimated three to five weeks for delivery. I expect my yellow edition to ship this week.

I feel bad for those that spent $800-$900 to source stock locally in the frenzy of the first couple of days…

Does appear stock was more difficult to come by in Oz than in some other parts of the world.
