The receivers are currently doing what they can to liquidate all stock in a "limited" period of time. What this means for us is that the receivers cannot "wait it out" and hold onto stock, if stock is not sold at their targeted rate per week etc.
The receivers would have previously mapped out a strategy of discounting say a further 10% each week on brands to clear out all stock (20% now, 30% off in a week's time, 40% off in a fortnight).
If we artificially ensure that the receivers do not meet the sale targets each week then it increases the possibility of larger percentage discounts further down the track to ensure all stock is sold.
Ideally we would contract with each other not to purchase from DSE in the next fortnight but the best thing we can do is have in the back of our mind that no matter what item we are hunting, all stock will be at its lowest price the day before DSE ceases trading.
tl;dr - try to buy from DSE as close to the cease trade day as possible.
