      Used?

      Jesus jv, you're so inconsistent!

      • -7

        Unopened…

        • +3

          Enough qty to consider it a bargain?

        • -3

          @XeKToReX:

          Nope, just the one, otherwise I would have posted it as a deal.

        • +2

          @jv:

          Exactly, so if it's not a deal then why compare it?

        • -4

          @XeKToReX:

          then why compare it?

          Because I found it cheaper.

        • @jv:

          Sweet, could you go and get it for me and post it to me plz?

        • +1

          @jv:

          I got 8pk eneloops for $5 before, so $6 eneloops are not a deal, because it has been cheaper?

        • -2

          @XeKToReX:

          Sweet, could you go and get it for me and post it to me plz?

          I doubt you can afford my shipping and handling fees…

        • +1

          @jv:

          But I can afford Target's in this deal!

        • +1

          @jv: So why did you post about it here when it's not relevant in any way, shape or form whatsoever?

        • +1

          @gokhanh:

          So why did you post about it here

          Because I'm commenting about the deal.

        • @jv: You compared it to an op shop (which is wrong) item and said "no deal". Where's the comment about this particular deal? This is a retail item people can buy at a discount as there will be more than one available, unlike your op shop find.

    Used to love playing this.

      It's not the same since they introduce UDRS… :(

      • Holy moly that caught me off guard.

  • +5

    Great game back in the day, but sounds like they don't make them like they used to.

    • Thank you for saving me $31 and my son a disappointing afternoon.

      • Thanks as well

        I almost bought this until I read those reviews. Loved it when I was a kid and wanted to share it with the kids today. I might be better off finding an original version on eBay.

    • +3

      bowler broke after the first 10 min

      Sounds like the real thing.

    • +1

      I bought one for my sons birthday and the quality was crap in comparison to what it used to be like. The bowler broke and the batsman was almost impossible to use. Had to take it back the next day and bought the Bradman cricket game instead.
      Pity as I had many hours of fun playing it when I was a kid.

    • Thanks for those links. Will hang onto my money. What a shame they didn't replicate the original game set.

    • Thanks for this info.

    • Those reviews are full on. Looks like Gumtree it is to find an old one.

  • +1

    Batting and bowling certainly ain't like it used to be. Can't believe they ever changed both mechanisms to make the game unplayable.

    • +2

      Please explain?

      • +6

        The batsman is now allowed to use a tree stump for a bat. Cricket Australia asks for lifeless pitches to be prepared and for Kookaburra to make a ball that quickly loses shine and goes soft. This is done to protect our batsman who can't hit a 'maximum' with his tree stump if it moves one cm or bounces above his knees. Then Michael Clarke hits thousands of runs in Australia and Channel 9 labels him a "great" cricketer. Does that answer your question?

    I'm really good at this game

    • +12

      Hopefully better than your Fujitsu ads

    • +5

      Perfect for players that hate running

  • +6

    Keeping the creases out of the creases was the real challenge.

  • +1

    Can this be modified in any way to a drinking game?

    • +1

      Hows this:

      As the bowler, take a sip for every run the batsmen make.

      As the batter, scull your drink every time you lose a wicket, rotate the batting with other people if you're a pussy.

    • +4

      Put shotglasses full of metho all over the field

      Everytime you hit one skoll

      Before too long, you and your mates will be punching on after the game degenerates into arguments about the games rules, who's the best cricketer in real life, then other unrelated topics - in that order

      The arvo will end with broken little plastic fielders all over the floor and a soggy piece of green felt - and no, you will never see that little ball bearing again

    • Hah, decent recommendations. How long does a game usually go on for?

      • +1

        Till someone gets hurt usually

        • Seems like drinking wil only further quicken the game then….

  • Waiting for the T20 version.

  • -1

    Get it now, before Test Match Cricket has sold out. Oh, wait….

  • +2

    Better off getting the made for NZ version. The bowler for that set wasn't modelled on Trevor Chappell.

  • +2

    I was too poor to have this as a kid.

    And yes I used to dream of living in a corridor

    • +1

      Live in a corridor? Luxury!

  • More enjoyable than the real thing.

    • You clicked on a post for a cricket game to hate on the actual game of cricket?
