I've been with with them for ~2 years on this. No problems. I can't believe how overpriced other telcos are in comparison = Saved lots! :-)

    • I been with them for around 2 years as well. Real friendly service and never had any problems. They are only a small company and porting issues at the start we resolved quickly. TPG's plan though is making even PlanetISP look a bit expensive :). I'm with TPG for my ADSL, so I'm seriously considering porting over for the 150MB free data (actually, not free, its $1).

Actually Planetisp mobile looks like very good.

  • Flagfall 35c
    Call rate
    (per min) $19pm/92c $49pm/80c $59pm80c $79pm78c

    on their $19 & $49 plan sms @ 25c, free on the $59 & $79 per month

    Thats from optus.com.au

The above post seems really cheap???

I'm thinking vodaphone is the carrier???

    • Move to one of these above deals (or the TPG one) and save your money! ;-)

  • Slimtel = Vodafone, PlanetISP the same so if Voda is your preference these are the way to go Planet ISP doesn't require you to be postpaid beforehand like slimtel does so if your are, on isim this is probably better

If its Optus then the TPG plan looks the best (its just been posted here a few hours earlier)

If its Telstra then look at Ugly Bill

And be awear of the $11 port out fee…

Their VIP plan has been for long time, but actually it is a joke.

Firstly you must transfer to VIP plan from a post paid plan of another provider,
Secondly Slimtel will ask you to spend similar money with VIP plan as your previous post paid plan. eg, you have a post paid plan of $39 cap, and then they would expect you spend $39 as well with their VIP plan, if not they would transfer you from VIP plan to another plan.
At last there is $11 port out fee to avoid the customer transferring out.

Just be very careful, this was my experience.

    • Wow, I think that experience is worthy of a negative.
I can't see mention of this policy in the terms and conditions, but it is enough to make me think twice about this offer.

Woah 18c SMS and 25.3c/MB! That is expensive! Exetel HSPA charges 1.5c/MB and 8.8c per SMS. Still though those call rates are very good. However as mentioned above RE: VIP; if they don't allow you to save money, what is the point in switching?

    • +1

Yes, these data rates are the dealbreaker. Way overpriced.

If you consider buying a new prepaid, have a look at this spreadsheet (http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AkTXsjWOGc6odDk2UHFF…) and see the chart 1.

On Chart 1 clicking the Color flag on right would show the cost for that specific plan.

On call cost/second comparison TPG is the clear winner. Even smspupmobile gives good value as it only costs you $10 to receive $130 value which means spending REAL $1 gives you $13 value.

TPG costs ~$0.40 for 2 min 25 sec call

smspupmobile costs ~$2.30 for 2 min 25 sec call

though it costs almost six times of TPG, in real monetary value it is chepaer as you get $13 value only by spending $1.

    • Nice spreadsheet, thank you (couldn't see any difference to the edit you requested - did you do it yourself? You can by using edit function under your post. If not just repost correct link below and I'll update tomorrow

      • Thanks for the spreadsheet but I find it funny how some prices are lower than others yet they are marked red and the more expensive one marked green.
