    • If you keep having issues with Sony phones why do you keep buying them?

      • work gives them to me…

  • Are these Aus stock?

Any issues with Voda 4G bands?

    • +1

No issues with bands, but these are grey import so not aus stock.

    • Let me guess… Looks like the z5, which looks like the z4, which looks like the z3, z2, z1 etc.

      They don't like changing.

      • Actually it looks more like the C series.

  • I really want a z series Sony phone I keep holding out I really really want the z5 premium apparently it doesn't really get hot unless your recording in 4k and even than apparently with some new updates it's running even more efficiently. But the fact it's a grey import is enough to scare me away I want Australian warranty for this price and this phone! =(

    • I haven't a dealt with them for warranty issues but QD have a shop in Australia that you deal with for repairs. I've found the delivery really quick too.

  • Ebay announces a measly 10% discount and allnsundry are flogging their wares. Almost as bad as the SCA posts.

not taking anything away from this post but moderators should clamp down on this noise.

Don't forget that you're not the only person in this world. Just because none of the deals appeal to you doesn't mean they don't appeal to anyone else. You can set your profile to only display deals on your home screen that have more than x number of votes, if you're only interested in the higher-voted deals.

You missed my point Eug. Do you really think its necessary to post deals when the ONLY offerings are 10% and thats the blanket offering by Ebay USING their nominated payment method of Paypal?

If there were compound discounts in the deal, go ahead post it. But if its only the ebay deal, why bother?

        • +1

I greatly appreciate it. As these individual deals get upvoted, I receive them via email. That way I can keep track of deals as they get discovered and confirmed to be good deals by the upvotes.

If everything was just posted in the one ebay listing, far fewer people would know about the deals unless they kept going back to that one post several times a day. Users who don't happen to have seen that initial ebay post a few days ago could also completely miss all the deals as it would not be on the front page anymore.

If you have lots of free time and can keep checking one deal post several times a day, then sure, there's little point in having individual deals posted. But for those of us who don't have that luxury, the ability to receive notifications when a good deal appears is fantastic. Being able to skim through the main page and immediately see what deals are available is a great benefit too.

Also, different people have different spending habits. A "measly" 10% can easily equate to $150 if someone is in the market for a new laptop. That's not "measly" to me.

        • @eug:

I measly 10% can be had by simple negotiation, anywhere \ anytime. Good luck with your endeavors.

          @nuno:

Good luck negotiating a 10% discount on most eBay 'buy it now' listings for new high-end phones.

If GST gets raised to 20% you'd better not complain since you can simply negotiate a discount anywhere, anytime. :)

I've made quite a lot of eBay posts and they all seem to be pretty well received. If you are not happy with eBay deals, you can go to to the 'hide' button under the deal and hide all deals from eBay australia.

      • there's been only one 10% ebay "deal" posted since this one. I rest my case.

LG G4 is the best 'bang for buck' Android phone right now, arguably the best Android phone right now regardless of price.

G5 being announced later this month is shaping up to be pretty awesome too.

    • Best bang for your buck out of the reputable brands, and disregarding the cheap Chinese phones…

    • Great phone for sure, made even better by the fact that it can currently be picked up at a really good price, but 'the best' based on what exactly?

Let's see, the Z5 has better specs, better camera, better battery life, waterproofing for a bit more money (or the Compact for about the same).

Besides being a 5.5" phone its aimed at the niche 'phablet' market.

  • So if I want a decent phone without paying the premium price(Ozbargain logic strikes again), is the Z5 the best middle ground for these type of phones?.

Although seems to me that the issues with Z5 seem to vary. Surely it's an issue with various Android OS updates?

I've heard from friends that they're happy with Sony phones, after jumping from Samsung. So would be looking to move on from S3 and overall bloatware that comes with Touchwiz.
As well as retain microSD card and removable battery support which Samsung seems to do away with. In saying that battery life is probably my biggest thing in looking for a new phone- which S3 seems to struggle to keep for a whole day.

    Am open to over suggestions.

Best middle ground? Id say no way. Sony phones are generally more expensive.

Also the s6 performs better (see the comparison in my previous post here).

It's a good phone… with the lags and sluggishness compared to the s6. Again, see the video.

      • I switched from an S6 to the Z5C last month. The Z5c is shitting me at the moment with its lag when switching between apps, or even loading up the camera.

I had a great experience with the Z3 though. I'm going to try resetting this Z5C first, or maybe flashing a different stock firmware on to see if it helps. Fingers crossed!

    • Get the Z5 Compact - yes, it's a high-end phone with a mid-range price sticker. It's also faster than the Z5 and has unbeatable battery life.

It really has no competition at this price point.

  • Just a word of warning: AFAIK on all the new Sony Z series the digitiser, LCD and glass are all fused together. This means that while a cracked screen on most phones would generally cost around $100-200 to repair, the Zs cost $300+. I broke my Z ultra screen and was quoted on average about $350 and my dad broke his Z5 screen and was quoted $300. In short, great phone just don't drop em.

    • I usually use my phones naked and have been lucky (or just careful) so far, including the Z5C since October, but you can always get this for the piece of mind:

    • LG screens are the same. around $200-$250 to replace (had to just replace a LG G3 screen and it was $200, store said the same for sony.

That sliver iphone must be a new colour, it's not one I've heard of before.

    • yep, Sliver, not as good as Glod.

I am guessing they mean white, thats what it looks like.

  • Aussie tax invoice for TRS?
