Looks like a good price currently for the advanced Panasonic charger and 4x eneloop batteries.

Looks like it has been this price before back in Oct last year, but since the demise of Dick Smith and all those eneloop deals, this looks ok.

As I already had some 'tropical' eneloops, I was after the charger only and paid $19.83 USD delivered on ebay before I saw this deal, but now I would have preferred this deal for a few dollars more. The voltage is ok at 100-240V so the only issue is buying a AU adapter for a few dollars.

  • (not to ask a dumb question, but I have no idea)
Does anyone know if the au adapter that comes with the overnight charger will work okay with the quick charger?

    • +1

Not dumb, getting it wrong with lecky can be fatal if not embarrassing, but yes, it should be fine if it works with the overnight one. There is no voltage/current conversion being done, it is a straight conversion of straight to angled pins. No added connectors in a circuit are desirable, but the current handling of the connectors is well above what is needed.

  • Would jump on this straight away if it was an AU plug. Adapters can be quite a nuisance.

    • +1

I have one which needs an adapter and it is not that much of a problem. It is a great charger. I rate it 5 STAR !!

  • What are everyone's thoughts on the Amazon Basics version of eneloops?

    AmazonBasics AA High-Capacity Rechargeable Batteries (8-Pack) Pre-charged https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HZV9WTM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_xbiT…

Always had reasonable experiences with the basics stuff and with the glut of Eneloop options just looking at the alternatives.

    • I bought a few packs 4 months ago, I really liked the Amazon batteries.
Just as comparable, but less deals done on them (usually you still have to pay Amazon shipping).

      • That's good to know. Seem like they might be a good add-on purchase if buying something else from Amazon. The thing I like about the basics range is the great customer service Amazon give. Any problems with products can be quickly sorted with a refund or replacement.

  • Will they ship it to Australia? Isn't there an issue with shipping batteries via aircraft?

    • Amazon don't seem to have a problem shipping them to Australia. Did a couple of test purchases. Was about $US10 for shipping 1 x 8 pack up to $US33 for 10 x 8 packs

    • litium ion …… they only ship in small quantities. Large quantities ….. could have same impact as a hover board.

Eneloops are high quality NiMH …….

Hobby king charge extra when shipping Li Ion ….. not sure it's actually a different plane, or they limit quantities to stop potential hover board effect …… lots of energy in small space.

      • I have problems importing batteries for dslr cameras.

  • I don't get it … why does everyone buy Eneloops for so much when you can buy Turnigy LSD for $1.5 each which last longer due to having a higher capacity?

  • Although this is a good price, this deal seems a bit better value when you see how many extra batteries you get

    • I agree, good find….I should have searched more on Amazon but most times I find there postage can be a deal breaker, this time is was ok. My 8x eneloops from the cvalentine20 ebay deal and smart charger (bought separately) were about $55AUD total, so I am happy.

    • If I calculated correctly:
      * The OPs pack sends for $32.76 AUD
      * the bigger pack ships for $60.84 AUD
      * both ships for $86.35 AUD
(sent to 30XX, using Amazon's USD-AUD exchange rate).

Therefore the ~6x AAs and 4x AAAs~ would cost
$28.08 if the bigger pack is bought, or
$34.04 if both packs are bought

buying the larger pack is good value for the 10x extra batteries, as for close to the same price you can get a (Chinese) 8x pack of AAs.

The ones on amazon are also Japanese made eneloops, not Chinese ones (which AFAIK are not as well made).

  • Have a boat load of Eneloop batteries, in Townsville where it's humid 10 months of the year you'll find these batteries starting to mould up after about a month. Never had this happening so quickly with other batteries. Something to think about if you live in a humid hell hole like me :-D
