Just warning to all OZBs, bought from Macpac online from deal past posted.
Macpac took credit card only and did not have PayPal.
Many reported their credit card details stolen and used within weeks. There was issue with their secuirty.

    • Wow! Did they compensate you in any way? Or just an apology?

      • bank reversed all unauthorised transactions.
while others have theirs stolen and used right away, my card detail was not used until recently after 12months+.
that card was rarely used, so bank raised the flag early. It was not hard to isolate when the detail was stolen.

happy shopping! it is nothing to my pocket.

No one has negged any of the previous MacPac deals. I'm sure there would be negs if there were reports of theft of CC details after buying from MacPac.

[EDIT] After a search I found:
      - your forum post from 2014!
      - Even you upvoted that old deal.

5 people suspected MacPac order was source of spam & fraudulent CC purchases.

However, no report of anyone contacting MacPac.

No reports of suspicious activity in deals since 2014. So a warning about something that happened once in the past seems of little use now
I've never had any problems with MacPac online orders.

  • How do the towels compare to Kathmandu towels? This travel towel is also $8.

    • I don't know about the Macpac towels but my Kathmandu towel is great. I use it daily as I shower after riding into work.

      • I think I'll just get the Kathmandu towels, we have some we just need a couple more. Kathmandu pick up is a lot closer to me.

        • I think that's a fair call, especially if there are questions about the security of the website. Not worth it to risk it, especially if you can't use paypal.
