you are lucky JV is not around

    • Yeah I'm kind of expecting some sort abuse for this post

      • +3

haha. if jv we were here you'd get posts like

        What is the normal price?

        Why is this optimum?

How do we know this is nutrition?

        etc…

        • +1

And I'd ask does JV even lift? Asking questions like that haha

        • +1

          @unleashthepain:

          I forgot about:

          Any bargains?

          :P

  • +1

I just got Quest bars for just under $34 a box from the Genesis 15% off sale earlier https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/231963

  • +1

they're slightly more expensive than the Genesis deal

    For example I put-

    12 pack of Quest bars
    Optimum Nutrition BCAA Powder 380G
Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey Protein 10Lbs

it comes to $225.16 on this site, whereas its $199.62 on Genesis, both with the 15% off codes. The whey protein also comes with 'free' stuff

Might have to sift through the same items on differente sites to see which works out to be cheaper

    • I guess some things will be cheaper on other sites. But you'd get that anywhere. Hopefully someone can find something they're after at a cheaper price here.

  • Cheaper to just buy some roids =P

    • I thought the pro's just got their gains from nothing other than their sponsor's protein ;)

    • +1

these are not the roids you are looking for…

  • Has anyone tried the 10% price beat at Amino Z?

    • They wouldn't match the gnc sale, but I think that was because of the Gold card thing.
Sometimes they don't get back to you till the day after. So you may miss out… Worth a shot

Bulk Nutrients 11lbs /5kg/ WPI $149 so around $135 for 10lbs, standard price. This is not a deal. Also, BN is more pure, has more protein in it.

    • I'm a big fan of bulk nutrients, buy from them all the time. Fantastic company

But that's nearly $15 difference plus a $7 postage fee. Where this is free postage, so almost $21 difference.

      • I'm not sure about your math @unleashthepain, as 10lbs is NOT 5kg. BN is selling 11lbs (which is 5kg) for $149 so if you do the math it's $135 for 10 lbs.
So the price is the same, but if you compare them on protein content too, which you really should, BN is clearly winning.

    • BN is a manufacturer direct seller so you're kind of comparing apples to oranges there. It'd be a reasonable neg if you could find ON cheaper anywhere at the moment.

      • I'm comparing ON inferior quality protein with the higher quality (more pure, more protein content) BN protein.
Just like we compare mobile phone plans between Optus and Telstra or electricity plans between AGL and Origin.
Protein is easy to compare both on price and quality, which I did.
        Did I miss something?

        • +1

Well you said "around" $135 so I thought I could round my numbers up as well.
I'm all for supporting an Australian company and of course they're gonna be cheaper being a direct seller. An extra $21 for 500g?

People tend to go with what they know. Hence why optimum nutrition is so popular, not to mention it's won best protein 10 years in a row. Hence why I put it up as an example. Not to claim that it's better than Bulk Nutrients. Was just an example, plenty of other deals there…

        • @unleashthepain:
With around 160 clicks all together I'm not convinced it's so popular.
          For the cheapness part:
Bulk Nutrients (Vanilla flavour) WPI protein content: 90.5%
Optimum Nutrition (who knows what flavour because they think it's all the same): 81.6%
please note the huge difference in quality

          BN price / gram of protein (including shipping): (135 + 7) / (0.905 * 5000) = c 3.13 / g
          ON price / gram of protein (including shipping): (135.96 / (0.816 * 4535) = c 3.67 / g

Based on price and quality, it is in fact more expensive than the standard price of WPI from Bulk Nutrients. Although I would question why don't you buy WPC instead of the more expensive WPI but that's a different discussion.
As this is a deal site, any post really should be cheaper than other options.

        • @ocoolio:

Will take a not of that next time.

Agreed on the wpc, I buy it over the wpi all the time. The differences are minute
