you could post a deal like [Sony 48" TV $880+$120 item & received $200 giftcards]

can't just deduct the $200 giftcard for current item…….like you only paying $800

    it's a giftcard, not a cashback!

    • Thanks. Looks like Mod updated the deal before I could.

    • Convert it into cashback by shopping at stores which allow you cash refunds for card payments.

  • This is a poor deal,

it was $710 at binglee only yesterday https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/231261 via the 20% off deal.

    • I know this is not as good as Binglee deal but there are no stores in and around Melbourne and the nearest is $300+ kms from where I live and it doesn't make sense for me to drive that far to pickup a TV after factoring in the time & effort. And, that Binglee deal has already expired. :)

      • i understand, but binglee had $40 delivery, irrespective you cannot price match, when the terms and conditions specifically state that you must purchase online.

        • There was no delivery option in Binglee ebay. It was "In-store pickup only". I would've bought one if it had. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Sony-KDL48W700C-48-Full-HD-LE…

The $40 delivery disappears for big TVs once you try to click 'Buy it now' or 'Add to cart', it'll prompt you for poscode for nearest store to pick-up.
          Strictly in-store pick-up / click & collect only.

I bought a Cheeseburger for 90c about 15 years ago.. what's your point? Unless you are telling me you can still get that model for the same price, it's irrelevant.. it's commonly known with the AUD going ape-sh1t bad that TV's have gone up in price in OZ.

    • That price never came back. That was the best price I've seen so far.

  • What if you buy at full price, get the 100 eftpos card, then, as per their 30 day price match, go get it for 120% of the difference.

So pay 995. Get a $100 gift card.

Then, go back the next day, show them the $880 price at video pro. You should get 120% of the difference back (ie 995-880 = $115, x 1.2 = $138 refunded).

In effect, you should get it for 995-138 = $857 and still keep the $100 gift card.

I also have access to 5% off TGG gift cards (in $50 increments) so, for me, I could get the $995 TV for $947.50 with gift cards) (but receipt will still say $995).

So as per above I should be able to effectively get it for $809.50 with a $100 cashback gift card making the effective cost of the TV $709.50

    • I thought about that but given my recent experience with good guys they are refusing to price match with some online shops so I'm not 100% sure they will honour the price difference. But, they did price match with online shops couple of years ago. Ymmv.

There is a list of stores they will price match on the claim section of GG site. They only offer price protection against brick n mortar stores now.

  • Would the w8000c + gift card be a better deal than this..

    Cheers

      • May i ask why?

        • +1

U don't need curve tv for 1. Also 4k content is pretty rare atm, so u shoukd just buy a good fhd tv now, wait a few years for readily available 4k content, 4k tv should also be more affordable then. Another point, I'd rather wait for sale on premium brands rather than getting a hisense, tcl or the likes, price difference isn't all that much but u will have peace of mind
