Surely the $499 5S from Telstra is a better deal.
    - New
    - Better model
    - Australian warranty

I wouldn't pay double the China price for anything just for warranty. iPhones usually die quickly (covered by statutory warranty), or last forever, and if they do happen to break later, they're easy and cheap to repair yourself. There's just no reason to pay double for a warranty you're unlikely to use.

    So grey import, refurbished… lol

These can be had from multiple sellers on AliExpress (example) for US$140-175 / AU$200-250. You can get a 32Gb phone from China cheaper than Kogan's 16Gb one. I think I'd be more inclined to trust the Chinese sellers than Kogan, too!

      Yeah… 14 months ago!

So how is this a good price?!

      • Actually not that good - i though it was the 32g but is 16g

        • $300 brand new, 32gb from DS was a good price. This is an ordinary price.

@unity1: agreed but that was then this is now

        • @sjcwill: I know. It was just for the purposes of making a comparison.

        • @unity1: is there a link, screen shot or other evidence of the ds $300 deal that will help us understand if this is a fair comparison ?

        • @sjcwill: No, these were the DS clearance deals from late last year. You won't find any more at this price now.

I'd personally buy the iPhone 5s for $499 from JB/Telstra if I wanted an iPhone now, or save a bit and wait for the 'iPhone 5se' in March.

It's too much for a refurbished outdated phone from a dingy store

Check which 4G bands it support, not the same bands as 5s or 6.
