It really is. Such a bugger. The amount you save you pretty much outlay on spending to get somewhere (other than Avalon).
Walt Disney should set up a theme park there. If he wasn't busy doing whatever he's otherwise doing now.
One thing to consider is that pre-booked and pre-paid longterm parking at Tullamarine is so much cheaper than Avalon.
Parking 10:00am Monday to 7:00pm the following Monday cost me $51 at Tullamrine. A quote from the Avalon Airport website is $94!
Good deals, but the savings aren't much for some routes. For example, ADL to SYD regular starter fare is $77 any way, which is now $65 (or $59 on some dates), so just $12-$18 savings.
