    How does it compare against STR-DN1040?
    JB tends to have a sale each year with 30 or 40% off all Sony amps and I got the STR-DN1040 for around $750.

        Very solid receivers from what I've read. The 60's have hdcp2.2 (important for future 4K passthrough) but neither has atmos or dts:x if that's something you may want in the future. You'll pay double the above for a good Marantz, Denon or Yamaha with all the trimmings and the Sony's aren't that much behind them for most requirements. Nice buy if you want it now.

      I bought my DN1040 from JB at this sale for $720 in 2014. Last time i checked, JB (in SA) no longer stock the DN series on the floor. Special order only.

    Sony did a remarkable job with this amp and it's two predecessors (DN840 & DN1040; DN850 & DN1050).
    Sony tested the configuration using different capacitors to obtain the sound result. The DN1040 took out whathifi product of the year in 2013. I have this amp and i love it. Burns my Marantz SR7200. http://www.whathifi.com/sony/str-dn1040/review
