The BigW bikes are a better way to increase your fitness. Bring on the resistance training :)
They're also better for your wallet.
Pretty nice features for the price i.e internal cables
internal cables
Does that noticeably improve the aerodynamics?
Nope just looks nicer
The RRP of the groupset alone is > $1000.
Though noone sells it at RRP.

Still, it is already A$529.99 and that is before the frame, wheels, saddle, labour,
warranty etc….
I had a bike a while ago with the 105 groupset.. not as good as Ultegra but still very nice. Add on some clipless pedals and shoes and you're all set to race the cars!
Not sure if this is a serious question.
Assuming it is, it's cos there are many types of pedals,
most incompatible with each other, so there is a good chance that
whatever pedals it comes with would not be suitable for what
you want to do.
So it's better that they dont come with any and you get what
you want instead of doubling up.
It's not a serious question, jv always asks why proper bikes never come with pedals. That and "What's the usual price?"
That and "What's the usual price?"
I don't think I've ever asked that… I might have, but I doubt it.
Can you show me a link?
@jv: My apologies, I was paraphrasing.

Doesn't that apply to seats too ?
Probably.
But with pedals, there are downstream consequences.
ie. the type of shoes you will need, the type of cleats you need.
Whereas with seats, none.
Thinking about the Silverback Strela 1.0 as a commuter bike. Anybody have an opinion on this vs Cellbikes Lapa 2.0?
The Cell Lapa 2.0 uses the old 10 speed 105, and not the new 11 speed stuff that the Silverback does. The 11 speed 105 is a marked improvement in design and, in my opinion, shifts nicer at both the front and rear.
Apart from that, they're quite similar.
Fairly certain the shifters in this new generation are the same as the DuraAce and Ultegra now.
Which Marketing guy came up with the brandname 'Silverback'. Are they intentionally positioning themselves for the MAMIL market? These look like BikeBug's version of the 'own branded chinese frame fitted with a Groupset', as per Cell, Polygon, Azzurri etc, anybody know which chinese frame they've used?
Its like Diamondback but not as fancy, actually not even as fancy as Goldback!
when I ride, I ride bareback.
Boy are they ugly.
The staff?
Did anyone try the Silverback bikes?
The carbon and aluminium Shimano 105 bikes at $1200 and $900 respectively are also outstandingly good value.
