Logitech UE Boom 2 $197 (Harvey Norman $172 after $25 Newsletter Signup)

80

ok, it's not quite as cheap as Logitech UE Boom 2 $161 @ Harvey Norman (with HN Newsletter Signup) but this $172 is still the best I can find now. $25 newsletter signup voucher

officeworks have it for $189 here

HN have it for $197 in their half yearly sale here …. if you sign up for the newsletter (disposable email addresses anybody ;) ) you'll get a single use coupon for $25 off, bring it down to $172

I've uploaded the receipt, and used some judicious editing, so hopefully some of you MAY be able to use it for PB at OW!

  • I wonder how many OzBargainers haven't signed up for HN's newsletter for the $25 coupon so far. People keep taking that $25 discount into account with almost all the HN deals posted lately. Yeah, OP mentioned disposable email addresses but you've to buy stuff with your real name and address and I think someone was talking about if they find out you've already used the coupon they'll cancel your purchase or something like that.

    • good point AussieDaddy … when I ordered 2 of the same thing across 2 different accounts (but with a common name for both orders), I did get one order cancelled…but I have had success across different days/weeks/month

you may also have a friend/family member occasionally willing to help you out

      • I see. I remember from the Christmas deal someone was saying they had similar situation as yours when their order was cancelled for using the code twice so that has just come to mind when I saw this deal.

  • I never understood why are these speakers so expensive

    • Logitech struck gold with the original Boom. It was good quality for its time in a young market. But times have changed and there are far better BT speakers on the market costing much less. There are barely any changes to the Boom 2 over the Boom 1. It seems like Logitech chose to ride on the success of the name which is unfortunate.

As I understand it the boom 2 had a better Bluetooth range, more battery life and is now fully waterproof as opposed to just water resistant. I have the ue boom 1 and it is very loud for its size. I'd say the above improvements are worthy of an updated product.

        • Boom 2 is also 25% louder.

          They got crappy App though.

        • @Yummy: you don't need the app to play music. You only need the app to play from two devices at once

        • @che_97:

Uh oh, what I meant is the app is currently broken. Can't use remote power on/shut off nor the alarm works, specially on my Nexus 5. Been waiting for an update, heard nothing from Logitech.

Don't get me wrong. It is a great speaker. I wonder if I should get a second one for Stereo pairing.

Just for side note: the battery will only last 2 hours if you are maxed the volume.

Lots of speaker can play loud but it doesnt say much about the quality of sound.

Each to their own i suppose. For a $200 device i expect the sound quality to match. If you can buy a BT speaker that has similar features as the boom but with better sound and nearly half the price then why wouldnt you.

        • @Yummy: I haven't tried the alarm, but the remote power off has worked for me (from within the app)
