McDonald's CYT Burger - 16 Free Ingredients

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Get 16 free ingredients on any CYT Burger. Haven't seen anyone else do this at my local Maccas so I assume it isn't common knowledge. Price is $8.95 for beef and $9.95 for chicken.

Process:

  • Choose beef or chicken and bun type.
  • Select three cheese slices, can be of same or different types.
  • Skip the Turn Up The Taste ingredients because they cost money.
  • Under Fresh'n It Up select a total of 10 ingredients with maximum of 3 per type.
  • Select three sauces, can be of same or different types.
  • Pay and wait for your frankenburger.

Tip: Probably best to ask for a plastic fork too since a burger with this many things in it is hard to eat.

    it isn't common knowledge

It will be now since you've posted it here.

    • +1

Pickles make good Frisbees, I wonder if that is common knowledge?

      • +2

        It is now….

        • +2

          Pickles make good Frisbees

and stick to the windows quite well :)

      • -7

Gherkins, not pickles. Next thing we'll be calling burgers 'sandwiches'.

  • +7

    Show the burger.

    • +4

      Looks better than I expected.

  • +16

How is this a hack when the whole point of this is to pick and choose your own condiments to create your own burger? Hence the name ‘create your taste’. Youre supposed to be able to do this.

    • +4

Well I don't think they intend for people to add the maximum amount of free condiments but if you have a better title name let me know and I'll change it.

      • +6

        CyT_McD_OzB made by RyB

    • And $9 for a burger at Maccas!?

      O_O

  • +6

Man, needed a pic of the monster you created using this.

    • +2

      Pic of burger added.

      • +1

Any pic of the waiter/waitress facial expression when wondering around with that massive burger looking to you?

          dontblushbaby

        • @jlogic: shh bby is okay

      • That's definitely one fully loaded creation.

    • Perhaps nearly as evil as an Elevation Vertigo Burger.

  • pics and whats this cost

    • +3

Cost is $8.95 for beef and $9.95 for chicken. Will put up a burger pic soon.

      • dunno who neg'd you or why, so I fixed it

  • +19

What? This has always been the case, how is this remotely a deal?

  • +6

    How much are these normally?

    • -1

Well if you made these normally without CYT you'd be looking at about $20+. With CYT it's $8.95 for beef and $9.95 for chicken.

      • It's not the same product if you're gonna compare to other restaurants. Might as well compare it to a foot long Subway ie. ~$8.

        • +4

I think Ryballs meant if you ordered the same thing (with all the added stuff) at the Maccas counter, as opposed to using the CYT feature.

    • $16

  • +1

So this will be a salad burger?

    • Well there is the meat and cheese but yes mostly salad. So if you don't like rabbit food probably best sticking to cheeseburgers.

  • +2

Even better do with no shirt or shoes on…

    • +1

What's the correlation between clothes and this bargain/burger/deal?

        • I'm from Canada, and while it may not always be enforced by timid managers - it is standard policy across the board. McDonald's requires you to be wearing shoes and shirts if you're in the restaurants.

        • @geoffellis:

It's too frosty to take off shoes and clothes in Canada anyway.

        • @geoffellis: McDonalds current advertising shows a surfer fresh from the beach placing an order at the counter, and a girl grabbing cash from her bikini bottom to pay.
Yet one store has their own - No shirt No Shoes No Service policy.

A segment on a current affair last night, a particular mcdonalds not serving people who werent wearing shoes and shirts

  • +1

I thought it was common knowledge. They actually used to let you do an unlimited types of cheeses, salad and sauces but they clamped down on it and now it is 3 of any cheese, 3 of any sauce and I don't quite remember how salad went.

  • +1

HAhAhaha, I cannot upvote this enough. That's a monster of a burger and can just imagine the staff going "WTF?"

Quick question, with all that, did it taste nice? Or was it just a mess?

    • +1

my experience is it won't taste nice unless you wanted to eat salad with a side of meat and bread.

    • +2

They actually taste really good, especially the chicken. Make a huge mess though.

    • I think I would just pull them excess salad out and have it as a side salad rather than try and eat it together. 1 sauce is enough too.

  • +2

That's not a burger, this is a CYT burger…..in true American over the top style.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlf2qej33eU

  • +7

How is this a bargain when its the purpose of the CYT meal?

    • +1

I don't think the purpose of CYT is to get as much free stuff as you can. Which is probably why I've never seen anyone else do this.

      • +5

lol, it isn't 'free', its included in the minimum cost. If i was making it I would easily max the burger with all i could for the minimum price. Its no different from when you buy a hotdog at 7-11 and they have the condiments bar. You put three amounts of everything on until you can't see the dog or bun anymore

      • +2

It's not 'free'. You're paying a higher than average price for the 'gourmet' (aka served on a chopping board) burger in the first place. Do you really think Maccas is losing money when people buy a $10 burger?

  • +3

Not a deal, has always been this way

  • +11

This has always been the case. It's the whole point of a CYT burger. You're not cheating the system or anything. No deal here.

This is like saying 'free straws and napkins with the purchase of a meal at maccas'.

    • I think the purpose of CYT is to customise your burger but not necessarily to get as many free toppings as possible.

    • I am with puffin

    • +12

free straws and napkins with the purchase of a meal at maccas

      if you don't post this, I will…

    • +8

      free straws and napkins

Dammit!!! Why didn't you post that before Xmas and New Year ???

      • Stocking fillers.

    • Don't be silly, you don't have to buy anything to get the napkins, just walk into the store and take them from the place they keep them along with the straws and salt/pepper/sugar.

    • Wait, what!? I could repackage and sell those - thanks!

  • +8

How is this a deal? This is no different to loading Subway with all the free salads

  • Add 3x grilled chicken!!

  • -1

AFAIK the only things that cost extra are bacon and an extra piece of meat/chicken.

    Everything you've added is free.

I think adding different cheese might cost. Not sure, I don't order CYT.

    • and tortilla chips

    • Mushrooms

  • +3

why not post a deal about getting 20 free napkins when you buy a burger too…..

    • deleted - put comment in wrong spot

  • +11

    The deal that divided OB

    • +1

This deal shall be known as the deal the rocked the OzB community. It will never be the same again…

Look at your young men dying

Look at the lives we're leading
The way we've always done before

  • +4

I'm sorry, I know you posted this meaning well, but it's really not a bargain/hack as such. It's the standard price and has always been this way, and in fact, it's been mentioned in other posts on here.

    • +4

I know you posted this meaning well

How did you know that ?

      • ahh JV, you have me there.

        • +2

I was meaning well, so he got it right. :)

  • no deal, always free

  • Sorry, no deal.

  • -1

All this negativity is sure to encourage more deal postings in the future…..

    • +3

Alternatively, it encourages more quality postings.

  • +2

Meh, my local chinese joints give me free condiments too, soya sauce, vinegar, black vinegar, chillies, chilly oil, shallots, hoisin sauce, radish pickles, and extra msg.

    • +3

      Please post -_-

        • pic. I want to see some dumplings+
  • yeah always been like this, ordered this last time

    • and yet you didn't share :(

  • +1

    Winner winner, chicken burger dinner.

    • -2

Winner winner chicken burger dinner actually

  • +2

This isn't a deal. These condiments are always free if you purchase CYT burgers.

  • +1

    lol

  • +1

I couldn't care less about the extra salad. I thought you had figured out a way to get the bacon, eggs and tortilla chips for free.

  • fail, was always like this

    • +1

I agree that this isn't REALLY a deal, but "always been like this" doesn't mean it's not a deal.

When a good deal has never been posted before it's still a deal, even if it's the permanent ongoing price or an ongoing discount/promo. (e.g. 2% cashback for ING, free QFF membership)

  • +1

How do you feel this is a deal? For starters nothing is free!! You get up to 16 condiments when you pay $8.95.
You cant get these condiments for free if you dont buy a burger!!!

So what you are suggesting is then instead of CYT a burger you enjoy you should CTY a burger that costs McDonalds the most.
I would rather have burger I enjoy and leave you thinking that there is a deal somewhere for listing the limits on what you can add to this burger

  • +2

Call me weird but isn't adding pesto mayo and herb aioli together like dividing by zero and riding a surfboard through a blackhole?

  • -1

Wow even this can be a deal……..hmm……….now think i can post ANYTHING on OZB. If I get deleted I will question mod for this maccas deal.

  • +5

I actually thought you paid additional per salad before this post, so thank you for that advice.

  • +1

:/ for all of you saying that is has always been this way and not a deal, we'll have to wait and see if maccas changes this in a few months. Then we know OZB did it again or not. Nothing will change if common knowledge.

I for one found this information insightful.

  • No

  • +2

Not a deal anymore, now it's a forum post.

    We did it OzBargain!

    • +1

We created our own forum post!

Sorry that this was posted in the wrong section guys. Hopefully some people find it helpful anyway.
