Similar to this deal - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/228045 however they're Panasonic branded, not Sanyo.

Navigate to the oo.com.au website using the incognito function in your browser to be offered a further $10 off for new members - minimum spend $50

Not the cheapest they've been, however due to Santa delivering heaps of toys for the kids that require batteries, this deal will have to do.

Tried in both incognito and not incognito. Price is still $24 each or $72 for 3. And delivery remains free.

I think you are referring to the $10 off your first order. Which won't apply as soon as you login if you've already used it.

    • Yep you're right. Amended info above to reflect this. Most OzBargainers have numerous emails at their disposal for such instances :)

These are the Chinaloops, the 65% figure confirms that.

    • How about actual Eneloop? Could you tell the difference pls?

      • Its been done to death…. …Eneloops are great batteries. But the China made ones are not. Dont last as many recharges, do not supply the same amount of amps for high amp devices. The Jap ones hold charge to 70% over 5 yrs, Chinalopps state 65%. Theres a reason for that difference.

Since Panasonic took over, Aus gets Chinaloops, part of the world gets Japanese Panasonic versions. The Jap Panasonic version is as good or slightly better than the Sanyos which were all Japanese. But the Sanyos are close. The Panasonic Chinaloops are just a battery like any other LSD (low self discharge) style battery.

Can you advise how to get the better version, or is there an alternative of quality?

@pensionday: Look for Sanyo made Enelopps. If AA, theres sometimes still stock of the 'Rouge' (reds and pinks) or 'UOMO' (blacks and silvers) sets of the Tones series Eneloops all made by Sanyo. Eneloop Pros are still Japanese made. Fujitsu are the same as Eneloops inside. Made in the same original Eneloop factory (they and Twicell invented them). I just dont know if Fujitsu are still using that facility, or even making new batteries anymore but DSE does sell them too.

Otherwise, Amazon and import from US, but postage usually kills any deal. The US stock if genuine US stock, are made in Japan and slightly better than Sanyo Eneloops.

Make sure you get a decent smart charger, not a simple timed charger. The dumb timed chargers kill rechargeables.

Just for clarity, these in the deal are genuine Eneloops, Panasonic now outright owns it all (Sanyo is no longer involved) but Panasonic has moved part of production to China. We're in the China sphere of the market so these are made in China. Panasonic and Sanyo both have co-owned Eneloop for years, but now Panasonic is the only name associated with the brand and has made changes from the Twicell/Fujitsu factory that oriignally made Eneloops.

Technically, Panasonic owned it from long ago (about 2005 I think), but corporate law including aspects of anti-competitive law in Japan necessitated the convoluted ownership, Twicell/Fujitsu invented it, then some involvement with Sanyo (of which their battery division was owned by Panasonic), and finally just Panasonic. Or something like that.

        • @Tuba: awesome info… sorted me out!

  • Hopefully we see some sub-$20 delivered 8 eneloop deals soon.

  • How is this a deal? You can get these any day of the week from ebay for $22.xx. I get the $10 off for 50 spend…but 2 packs in and you're already paying $5 more.

    • Got a link to the ebay deal?

The Triple A version (AAA) can be gotten in an 8 pack for around $22

        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ENELOOP-AAA-X-8-Chocolat-Recharge…

The double A (AA) average around $30 for reliable 8 pack (plus shipping)

        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ENELOOP-AA-Tropical-8-Pack-/28189…

        • I been thinking buy this on eBay. Are they genuine? Can someone confirm this?

        • @wen87n: confirmation 100% is hard

things to look for: 65% means regular eneloop, better than normal rechargeable, lasts long time

70% means Japanese eneloop, is better, and usually has an extra bit of capacity

sanyo and panasonic are the brands that eneloop come under

I usually stay away from any eneloop battery that ships from china (on ebay), because I don't want to risk it being fake. Even though I haven't heard of it happening.

        • @gagiman: everything gets faked out of China if there's a market for it… so no doubt there are Enelooop's about too.

        • @braddsey:

They've been faked for a long time, more so in the early days than now. Lots of posts about how to spot fakes but the fakes kept getting better and harder to spot.
