USB Portable hard drive

I'm looking for a USB hard drive that can at least store 500 GB (1 TB preferred)

So do you want a portable one that's USB powered (i.e. 2.5"), or a less expensive but bulky 3.5" one that needs mains power?

  Maybe the best deal then is that 640GB Western Digital for $129 from Officeworks, but I couldn't tell you if it's still available. Also check StaticIce. If you're keen you could try buying an internal drive and getting a compatible enclosure.
  
  I think it would be near impossible to find a portable USB-powered 1TB drive under $160 (and possibly $250), at least not in the near future. If you want one you need about $300.
