I was really tempted to do this too - but have 600GB of games so it would have to be only a partial library. Kicking myself that I missed out on the 960GB one the other day.
Why would you have 600gb worth of games installed at the one time?
Anyone use this with the Alienware Alpha?
I use 840 EVO for my Alienware Alpha. Not a problem whatsoever.
Cheers man. What was the performance like speed wise? And was it a hassle to transfer all your data to the SSD?
It's a BIG upgrade if you still on HDD.
No, you can search on YouTube. In a nutshell, backup everything using Alienware back software on a usb drive, and dump the data on the SSD. Very simple if you followed instructions.
Cheers. What enclosure did you use for it?
Thanks, been eyeing this lately so you just saved me a bunch
Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD $119 delivered also at Shopping Express

Great price.. But waiting for another eBay $100 voucher sale.
how does this compare to the sandisk ultra II?
Samsung 850 EVO has 5 year warranty.
Sandisk Ultra II has 3 year warranty.Another plus is Samsung comes with the cloning software to copy your old HDD. Sandisk does not. I found Samsung Evos to be optimised better as well.
I don't think that's AUD???
Who here is ordering from newegg?
It's not in AUD or deliverable to Australia.
Also discounts on some seagate drives that are eligible for the $30 cashback from seagate. $270 delivered for the 8tb after cashback.
Are we comparing the same apple here?
should i hold until tomorrow and see if the ebay 15% off make it even cheaper? hmm
It will be 15% off their ebay price of $234- $198.90- so a small saving on this.
http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601… Yeah, a bit cheaper, maybe less reliable customer service and warranty for a $9 saving
perfect then!!
Can someone pls confirm if the SATA III will work in the MS Dell Signature laptop which was on sale earlier?
Thanks, just ordered one for a steam drive.
