  • I wish I could find some nice I5 desktop discounts.

This at $849 isn't great value given you can get it on EBAY delivered from the USA for less…

It was selling for around $350 USD in the USA 2 months ago

Build your own PC? You'll get exactly what you want and generally pay less.

Decent price on the XPS 13, but refurbs on eBay are still significantly cheaper. Will wait and see what other deals pop up. Thanks OP.

  • Bought my XPS 13 with 256gb from dell's ebay and I'm happy with my purchase. There are quite a few negative posts about these machines and it's possible there are a few quality control issues, but if you check these all in the first few hours of ownership you should be in the clear.

  • Was hoping for a massive sale on the top of the line XPS 15, as that's what I've been waiting for for a while. Will continue to wait. This is a great price though http://www.dell.com/au/p/inspiron-15-5558-laptop/pd?oc=y5104…

    • That is a very nice find indeed, just the weight is stopping me from pulling the trigger.

      • I honestly reckon it's worth waiting for the XPS 15 to have a better sale - unsure when that will be, but I'll be checking every day haha.

I think the shortage of the 4K screens is keeping the priceup. Also the XPS 15 is a very recent model upgrade.

Also 5% cash back via cashrewards

  • Thanks OP, I am so confused with XPS and this ASUS The ASUS will cost around $905 delivered. There are some differences, but still ASUS looks like a better deal.

    • That asus is only good for light work tasks like word processing and web browsing. It uses a core m processor which is designed for low-voltage, low power consumption, and in turn low processing power.

      • Yeah, I know. I don't plan to do CPU intensive tasks on my Ultrabook. Actually for that purpose, I will go with a Gaming Laptop or even better a Desktop/NUC. I think the "Intel Core M 5Y10" coupled with SSD and 8GB RAM should be sufficient for most users.

    • Is that Asus touchscreen?

  • Is it easy to add another SSD or replace the existing one?
