GoodGuys - Samsung 1080P 50" Plasma $1498

181

Good Guys are selling a 50" plasma Samsung tv for $1498 less for cash.

Not sure which model but I believe the B550 (series 5) has been heavily discounted recently so this might be it.

Not such a good deal. It was already available elsewhere for $1,350 few weeks ago. It might be ok if they can do it for $1,350 cash as well.

I don't see how you can give this a negative vote - the ADVERTISED price for the deal you have quoted was $1,499 (this one is $1,498). And like that deal and this deal LESS FOR CASH (and as of yet there is no verification on how much less that is, so we might get it for the same as the other deal - maybe less). And you gave the last deal a +ve vote. Please explain.

Can you confirm they do less than $1,350 for cash? If not, the previous deal I voted + is better than this deal. No need to explain, simple maths really.

Can you confirm they they DON'T do less for $1350 for cash? if not, you cant vote negative. Simple maths really :)

Also is that other deal still valid? If not, it makes this deal a bargain.

      • I disagree. We're not here to research if they can do better than the deal that is posted.

That's for the poster to do and confirm that EVERYONE can get it.

The other deal has info from other people saying that they were able to get it for $1350 cash at various places.

This one doesn't show anyone getting it for $1350.

However advertised price is a different story. If the post read (Has been bought for $1350 cash) then it would definitely be a better deal.

So it's a bit mixed up… I wouldn't vote -ve but I like the other post better.

    • The other deal also was Updated when the OP found they would do it for cash. so maybe you could have waited before jumping in. Also is the original deal still available?

I would love to know how much people got this with the LESS FOR CASH structure they have.
This price is insane! but I already got the older model for a couple of hundred cheaper (B530).

I'd vote negative, only becasue of my experience in Good Guys today. firstly, the TV was still listed at normal price. When I talked to the first sales assistant he said it was the series 4 (non HD model) that was on sale.

When I said the advertised one was a Full HD model, another salesperson came and said he'd take a look at their website. He found the sale price. He then said they'd give us the floor stock model for $1498, but that was their final offer.

Wouldn't even entertain the 'pay cash…' promise (written directly under the sale price in the catalogue)

I've never had to haggle to get a price from a shop's own catalogue before.

    Amazing.

Needless to say we didn't buy the floor stock model. But we did get a good (guys) story from it!

    • man that sucks, go to another store, ring up head office and complain, thats dodgy as!

only giving you floor stock for the advertised price! NO DEAL!

    • isnt good guys a franchise so it's like hardly normal, where if the catelogue (printed and distributed but HN Auburn) has a certain price the other stores don't have to honour it?

      • Very true, we have 2 good guys franchises within 20 minutes of each other and they have very different attitudes to bargaining. Needless to say one of these has just changed hands - can you guess which one… BTW the same is for Bing Lee one being owned the other a franchise. and the owed store always gives better prices

  • I cannot see the TV in the ad CAT now. Has something changed?

The Good Guys is always bad at service. That is why I go to them to get a price now and go to HV to buy.

    • Sorry - Who is HV?
