bought the Fallout Anthology from Mighty Ape, received it broken and battered, took them 2 weeks to give me their return address and issue a refund.

    • Was the return address in New Zealand? Did you have to pay for the ruturn?

QLD. They covered post but wasnt with tracking so I had to pay for that.

Haven't ordered from Mighty Ape for ages.

One of my orders was lost in transit. Was issued store credit after two weeks. Not Mighty Ape's fault, but hard to find value on some of their items. :/

  • It's a good deal. Brings the game down to an even lower price if you want the collectors items!

Avoid mighty ape, bought an AU copy of rare replay off them, got sent a cheap singapore version.

Mentioned it to them hoping to get a swap over for an aussie copy, nope.

Asked for a partial refund as i'd paid aussie RRP for it and the singapore one is cheaper, got ignored around then offered the opportunity to post it back to them at my expense for a refund not including post, oh and I had to send it via registered.

Nice way of them weaseling out of it, i'm not interested in buying from them again.

Never had an issue with Mighty Ape other than a postage (Australia Post's fault). My last 2 orders shipped from New Zealand and arrived in far north Queensland the next day using $12 Express. My last order was the Steelbook Edition of Rainbow Six: Siege which was immaculately packed and the steelbook came in absolute mint condition. I understand you wanted a Aussie copy, but for the future, Mighty Ape only sells New Zealand/cheaper region games. Don't think I've seen an Aussie game shipped by them.

      • Not true, most of their stock is actually AU stock, unless it's clear its U.K stock. That said, I don't think there is a way to tell if you will get an ugly NZ classification sticker on it. I avoid NZ/Germany stock..

They claimed it was local stock, it took nearly 2 months to arrive.

Noticed the picture used on the advert had an australian OFLC sticker on it, mine had a singapore one.

They first tried to BS me that it was NZ stock (despite having au stock?) then admitted it was in import version.

They also diligently fired off the return for refund option preventing me from lodging item not as described and demanding partial refund which really annoyed me so they're getting negative feedback from that as they want me to pay for postage to send it back to them….. for them to then refund me just for the game.

They attempted to weasel out of things a bit and until they sold out a few days ago were still selling these singapore versions as australian stock with the aussie OFLC sticker box as their product photo.

I can understand them doing it by mistake but doing it after i've complained is downright misleading and their general attitude over it has just been abysmal.

I've purchased a few items off them before and had no dramas but as you can imagine an experience like this souring your desire to deal with them, you shouldn't even need to quote australian consumer laws to a company to make them do the right thing by you, or point out that as they are trading here they follow our laws or see them doing what they can to make a refund too difficult / costly to obtain.

        • @acex1138: i would be a reluctant customer as well being in your situation…

        • @acex1138:

Mighty Ape is a misnomer. Dodgey Dogs is more appropriate.

  • I had a good purchase from mighty ape bought borderlands 1 & 2 pack for $14 shipped , was nice

  • Bought a back to the future blu ray set from them. Disc covers look suspiciously like copys but they play as blu rays so didnt complain, but wont buy again.
